If I could ban any social media platform for life, it would be Twitter. Like they say, Twitter is not for the weak. What makes Twitter not for the weak is the kind of words that have been written there. It used to be a place where voices mattered, where one could come and share their thoughts freely and sometimes find people that understood you, but not this, our current Twitter turned X. It's almost like a place full of different venoms.
When I first joined Twitter, it was just for fun. I will wake up, scroll through my feeds, and laugh at witty tweets or trending jokes. It felt like being part of a big global conversation. But slowly, it stopped being about connection and started becoming a battlefield; it started with who has a verified badge and who doesn't. Every single opinion will always have someone that it will offend, and every simple statement will be twisted and escalated.
Twitter thrives on chaos. You can tweet something innocently, not meaning any harm to anybody. Before you log out and log back in, you will see strangers from all corners of the world arguing about it. Someone will pick a mistake from your words, dragging will start, and a trending topic will fuel outrage. I sometimes guess that people on Twitter lack love at home because they don't filter their words.

What I dislike most about Twitter is how it brings out the monster in people. Behind screens, kindness becomes optional. People say hurtful things without a second thought, just for likes and retweets. It's very easy to destroy someone's reputation there by a single viral post, and the most painful thing is that it's even based on lies. Then there is a constant flood of bad news, misinformation, tribal wars, and scandals.
Every day there is one trending bad news story or the other. You can log in just to laugh and catch a cruise, but you will end up feeling anxious or angry about things you can't control. Twitter is one hell of a toxic place. I don't bother going to twitter for anything because it affects my peace. Even when you try to scroll on Facebook, you must see a tweet with horrible statements. In order not to spoil my mood in the morning, I will rather check my WhatsApp; at least that place is much better. One can't stay positive on Twitter when there are always arguments, sarcasm, and pain.
Every social media platform has something to offer people. Facebook has helped people in building businesses, and TikTok has helped us to get justice on most things that would have been swept under the carpet. Twitter used to be of help, but since Gen Z took over, no empathy and depression have become the order of the day.
Currently the good side of Twitter has been buried under too much hate, sarcasm, and noise. If I have the power, I will ban Twitter. I don't hate communication, but I miss when we have genuine conversation and don't have to tear each other down.
