Why are you not ready yet and why are you looking confused, Michelle asked.
I can't find one leg of my boot here,' Merit replied.
Hope you have not forgotten it at home as usual, Michelle said, looking around for a sign of the boot.
No, I didn't, but it's missing,' Merit groaned.
Michelle has to notify the other team members to help search for merit boots. The team searches the bathroom, under benches, behind lockers, and some even have to search themselves to be doubly sure that they have not mistaken taking it.
While they were still searching for the boot, the coach blew his whistle asking them to hurry up with the search because it's almost kick-off time.
Merit panicked and was almost giving up when she decided to open her locker to check again if it was inside and lo and behold, it was just sitting pretty on top of her backpack.
She breathed out and tried to pick up her boot from the backpack, but its rope was stuck on the zipper of her backpack. She frantically dragged it to pull it away, but it just wouldn't budge. Finally, she had to use a razor blade to cut it out.
She wore it immediately and raced to the field. When the game started, she played with all her strength and swiftness. She finally scored a goal that made them winners.
