It's October already. Halloween is coming soon. So I have to ask - what creeps you out? Ghosts? Blood? Snakes?
もう１０月です。ハロウィンはもうすぐやってくる。だから聞きたいことがある。何が不気味だと思う？おばけ？血？蛇？
Creepy means something is scary and weird. And maybe also gross. It's related to the verb creep, which means to crawl quietly, like a bug, or a snake. If something creeps up on you, it means it slowly gets close to you without you noticing.
"Creepy"は怖くて変だという意味です。そしてキモい場合もある。"Creep"という動詞に関係があり、それは虫や蛇のように静かにはうという意味です。何かが"creeps up on you"、それは気がつかずゆっくりと近づいてくる。
Creepy and scary are different. If someone says they're going to kill someone, it's scary. But if someone mumbles a lot and makes you think they might kill you, it's creeeeepy!
"Creepy"と"scary"は違います。殺そうと言う人は怖いです。でもよくブツブツ言って殺されるように思わせたら、それは"creeeeepy"！
Let's look at some examples.
例文を見ましょう。
Situation: Creepy guy 場合：変な奴 A: That guy creeps me out. あの人は不気味だね。 B: Why? なんで？ A: I don't know. There's something about the way he talks and moves. 分からない。なんか話し方や動き方は何かがある
Situation: Guy laughing and staring 場合：じっと見て笑っている人 A: Can you stop that. It really creeps me out. それやめてください。本当に怖いよ。
Situation: Hearing a sound like heavy breathing 場合；荒い息遣いのような音が聞こえる A: Dude, did you hear that? That was so creepy! ちょっと、聞いた？めっちゃ不気味！
Situation: A new pet 場合；新しいペット A: I have a pet mukade. 僕はムカデを飼っている。 B: You're creepy. Get away. 怖い。あっち行け。
Situation: Maybe a witch 場合；魔女かも A: That old woman who lives down the street is so creepy. この先に住んでいるおばあさんはめっちゃ怖いよね。 B: I know. I saw her dancing and talking to herself last night under the full moon. そうだね。昨夜満月の下で踊りながら独り言を言ってるのを見た。
Situation: Peeping Tom 場合：のぞき見する男 A: I fell asleep on the sofa and when I woke up, the mailman was staring at me through the window. ソファで寝ちゃって、そして起きて窓越しに郵便配達人が私のことをじっと見ていた。 B: Now, that's creepy. それは本当に不気味だ。
