Hello friends and fellow Hivians. I'm doing ok despite what may happen in next few days. It's something I can't control and I try not let it affect me. It's the tug-a-war between the political parties here in the United States to pass the new fiscal year government budget. So I ponder if I will go to work Wenesday or not and if I don't how long will it last. Anyways I'll stop there before I get on a rant 😆 So, Today I will walk you through my Friday.
I think the best way to start out the day is getting a good breakfast in. It really provides the fuel needed to get through the first part of the day. Here I just made me a cheese omelet, fried up some bacon, put together some various fruit and made some multi-grain toast. It was super tasty and put me in a good mood. Breakfast is not only my favorite meal but one I enjoy cooking.
After breakfast I headed into work. Usually I catch the sun peaking every morning this time of year. It's fall time here according to the calender but it doesn't feel like it quite yet. However the sun rises are very fall like are our absolutely gorgeous. I don't often get the opportunity to photograph it, but this morning I was stopped at the gate entering work and had time to take this quick picture from my car. The second picture is from today taken from my work parking lot.
Once I arrived into work there wasn't a whole lot that needed done today. We all did our part which was checking out vehicles and material handling equipment. Afterwards we gossiped and talked about various things. One thing we mentioned was going out to lunch as an office. We just need to get the bosses permission, but wait thier not here today, next in charge? Well that's me and it didnt take much arm twisting once we decided where we would be going, haha.
We decided on an Italian pizzeria and pub called Caniglia's. Its a smaller place but really as some good grub. I counted 12 tables some with 6 and 4 chairs. Also a few bar stools and even an outdoor area with a few more tables. The interior is decorated with some TVs, advertisements and some art work of the landscape of Italy.
This place has a decent sized menu. Somethings you can order include salads, subs, sandwiches, pastas and of course many different kinds of pizza. I was accompanied with three of my work colleagues. Two got an Italien version of a French Dip sandwich and the other got a pizza combo that came with Sicilian Chef salad. Let me tell you about my selection.
First off I wasn't feeling all that hungry. I ordered a pizza slice of the Caniglia special. First off a pizza slice is actually two slices. This crispy crunchy pizza was absolutely delicious. Its was topped with spinach, tomato, minced garlic, sliced provolone and garlic parmesan drizzle with olive oil. Every bite I savored the taste and I actually was craving for more when I finished. I've had food here before but never ate at the place. I think it made for a better experience to be honest. My total bill with taxes included was $7.20.
The service was great and fast. So good that are planned extended lunch was only 5 minutes past are normal one hour lunch. Once back at work there wasn't much to do. We received a call from our front office (higher leadership) to close up shop and leave at 3:30. No complaints from any of us and it was nice to have an easy work day to kick off the weekend!
My intial plan was to get a hair cut during my lunch hour. It worked out getting off early because I decided to get one than. The weather has been unexpecently warm for this time of year so lowering the ears felt good. Usually I get a haircut about once a month. Afterwards I did some delivery driving.
I drove for about 3 hours delivering 7 orders. I had two orders that were doubles so it really was 9 orders. I averaged just over $20 an hour which has been about the average lately. I drove about 25 miles in total so not much fuel was consumed. I could have driven longer and made more money but I was feeling like going home. Today has been an easy day up to this point and I wanted to keep it that way.
I didnt do much when I got home. Just watched some television and had a little snack. At about 9:45 I drove my son into work and by 10:30 I was ending the day laying in bed.
There's my Friday not much but really an easy day which I appreciated. Take care, stay safe and enjoy the week ahead. Until next time!
