These are previews from matches involving Belgian Teams with all the latest on team news, player form, and injuries along with my personal betting angles, ...

Saturday was one with mixed feelings as it was around break-even despite the fact that the main bet on Gent +0.5 won. I am trying to get my average stake up hoping for the season to start off with a good streak but at the same time want to avoid the downside risk which is tricky. 4 Matches as always on Sunday to have a look at...

Dender vs Anderlecht

Dender is one of those teams I see ending in the bottom regions but at the same time I kind of fear opposing them as they are certainly capable of ok performances. So far, they played a boring 0-0 at home against Cercle. A flattering 1-1 away against Standard, and a 2-0 loss against stvv in a boring 1st half and with 10 vs 11 in the 2nd half. Their main problem seems to be scoring goals and they have so far had 0.8 xg on average. Anderlecht is a team right now capable of the best or the worst and it's the form of the day along with good and bad periods in the match that are key. Basically I will need to see what happens in the match before I'm willing to get in. No Pre-Game Bets

Sint-Truiden vs La Louviere

Stvv so far has looked quite good with a solid 7/9. They started with a deserved 3-1 win over Gent who were less ready, They followed that up with a 1-1 draw against Charleroi where they were slight better in a boring match, Finally last week they only became good after they took the lead with a penalty and the opponent getting a red card. So they didn't have the strongest competition and have been royaly rewarded so far. This is a factor that does pick up their confidence. La Louviere started the season with a 0-2 loss against Standard where they were dominated the first 15 minutes and had a good reaction but with limited danger. They opted to build a wall away in Gent which nearly worked as a 88' goal gave Gent the 1-0 win in a match with 1.47-0.25xg and 5-2 in corners. Last week at home against Charleroi they started the match with initiative to go forward but once in the lead they again opted to build a wall which worked giving them the 1-0 win against a poor Charleroi. So I doubt that they will change what kind of worked so far and have a lot of focus on the defense esepcially in case they would score the first goal. I took 0.3 units on Under 2.75 @ 1.813 along with 0.03 units on 1st Half under 1 @ 2.141. I'm also leaning toward Sint-Truiden on the corners handicap and in case there is an early goal for the home team, I might opt out of the under in-game as La Louviere at that point will need to leave space and go forward.

Charleroi vs Antwerp

Charleroi so far clearly in weaker compared to last season as Zorgane and Heymans are gone and have not properly been replaced. They got eliminated in Europe and took just 2 on 9 in the league. This came in a 2-2 draw against OHL where they were 2-0 behind and scored twice late in a match where the score was exaggerated. The 1-1 at home against stvv was a boring math where part they played 10 vs 11 but never really got in trouble. Last week they lost 1-0 against La Louviere and they were unable to create much against the defense. Antwerp has done ok with a 5 on 9 playing against Union, Genk, and finally at home against OHL. They build a wall in the first 2 games refusing to play and wanting a point. I honestly expected their coach to play more forward at home against OHL but that was a major deception as it turned into another tactical match low on danger where a low cost penalty got them in the lead. The 2nd half was a bit more open as OHL allowed it since they needed to score. I expect for this match that for both teams, the fear to lose might be bigger than the will to win resulting in a very low risk and low on danger first half. I took 0.25 units on 1st Half Under 1 @ 2.028 along with 0.05 units on Charleroi Team Total Under 1.25 @ 1.800. I also took 0.15 units on Antwerp +0.25 @ 1.829

Cercle Brugge vs Westerlo

https://images.hive.blog/DQmZh1tcXteTM4gnuj6E3YxU467ALBXbBA82Ai8MNtWWLwr/image.png
Cercle Brugge so far misses scoring power with a 0-0 draw agaist Dender away, A 0-2 loss against Anderlecht and a 2-0 loss against Club Brugge leaving them with 1 on 9 at the bottom of the standings. That said, they should have enough quality in their team to put up good performances. Their style is one of high pressing. Westerlo got Pubished by Anderlecht showing that they have difficulties with pressing as they tried to cleanly build the play from the defense which because of the pressing often went wrong and created big chances for Anderlecht who won with 5-2. They followed that with a 3-1 win over Westerlo and an unfortunate 0-1 loss against Mechelen. So yeah, my notes kind of say that I need to oppose Westerlo against a pressing team but I can't say that I'm that comfortable betting them as they just haven't shown that good while Westerlo likely learned a lot from that match against Anderlecht. The odds are also not wrong. I'm just going to see what this match brings in-game. No Pre-Game Bets
