En el hogar donde resido actualmente aquí en Argentina hay muchos pañitos de cocina, sin embargo tomar las tapas y jarras con ellos suele ser un poco complicado. Entonces amanecí con ganas de tejer uno sencillo para empezar a usar hoy mismo. Mi hijo se despierta tarde así que me dió tiempo hoy de adelantar quehaceres y tejer un rato. Al menos lo inicié.
Hello friends. I hope you are well. Today I am going to show you a new pot holder that I knitted. In the home where I currently live here in Argentina there are many kitchen towels, however taking the lids and jars with them is usually a bit complicated. So I woke up feeling like knitting a simple one to start using today. My son wakes up late so it gave me time today to get ahead of chores and knit for a while. At least I got it started.

🍳 Para elaborar este lindo y muy práctico agarra ollas utilicé hilos de algodón rústico del tipo pabilo color hueso. Este es un ovillo pequeño que traje en mi maleta de viaje. Lo tejí con una aguja de crochet de 2, 25mm. Usé las tijeras de la cocina de la casa y fui tejiendo sin patrón. 🍳 Inicié tejiendo cuatro grupos de tres puntos altos cada uno separados por dos cadenas. Después fui tejiendo tipo granny, haciendo aumentos en las esquinas. Estos aumentos son de dos grupos de tres puntos altos separados por una cadena tejidos dentro de un mismo espacio, de esta manera se forman las esquinas.
🍳 To make this cute and very practical pot holder, I used rustic cotton thread of the off-white wick type. This is a small ball that I brought in my travel suitcase. I knitted it with a 2, 25mm crochet needle. I used the scissors from the kitchen at home and went knitting without a pattern. 🍳 I started by knitting four groups of three high stitches each separated by two chains. Then I went knitting granny style, making increases in the corners. These increases are two groups of three high stitches separated by a chain knitted within the same space, thus forming the corners.
Cuando tejo paños o agarra ollas en forma de granny lo disfruto mucho porque el tejido es bastante sencillo y el proyecto se avanza muy rápido. Tenía intenciones de hacer una combinación de colores, pero después pensé en ahorrar hilos para hacer las otras carpetas y nuevos agarraollas. Esta casa es muy cálida y acogedora, sin embargo me di cuenta que tener unos agarra ollas ayudaría más a la hora de estar preparando los alimentos o cuando las jarras estén muy frías.
When I knit granny cloths or pot holders I really enjoy it because the knitting is quite simple and the project moves along very quickly. I had intentions of doing a color combination, but then I thought about saving yarns to make the other folders and new pot holders. This house is very warm and cozy, however I realized that having some pot holders would help more when preparing food or when the jars are very cold.
🍳 Quise que el agarra ollas quedara de un tamaño regular, ni tan grande ni tan pequeño. En total tejí siete vueltas de granny y le tejí una vuelta de puntos bajos tomando solo la hebra de atrás y haciendo un aumento sobre el punto del medio de cada abanico de las esquinas.
🍳 I wanted the pot holder to be a regular size, neither too big nor too small. In total I knit seven rounds of granny and knit one round of low stitch taking only the back strand and making an increase over the middle stitch of each corner fan.
Los infaltables en la cocina. En todas las casas, me atrevo a decir, hay de estos pañitos; pueden ser de tela o tejidos. Son muy útiles. Podemos usarlos como pequeño tapete o como agarradera. Hay que tener varios ya que por su uso continuo suelen ensuciarse rápido. Este que acabo de tejer cumplirá con la función más de agarradera. Me gusta como se ve y ya lo hemos estrenado. ¿Cómo lo ven ustedes?
The infallible ones in the kitchen. In every house, I dare say, there are these little cloths; they can be made of cloth or fabrics. They are very useful. We can use them as a small mat or as a pot holder. It is necessary to have several of them since they tend to get dirty quickly due to their continuous use. This one that I have just knitted will fulfill the function more of a handle. I like the way it looks and we have already used it for the first time. How do you like it?
