This time I want to show you a new rug design that I knitted earlier. Now that I am by my son's side, thank God! I am organizing my schedule 😁 to continue knitting and enjoying other things I love to do.
Estoy en Mendoza, Argentina. Viajé a encontrarme con mi hijo quien ha estado enfermo desde el mes de febrero. A Dios gracia va en recuperación. Apenas me estoy organizando, pero saqué un tiempo para empezar a tejer una serie de tapetes que quiero colocar en las mesas y cómodas de la casa de la amiga de Ale donde estamos residenciados temporalmente. Ellos aquí usan muebles de madera y como no vi ningún adorno sobre ellos quise tejer una carpeta pequeña y sencilla para comenzar a decorar.
I am in Mendoza, Argentina. I traveled to meet my son who has been sick since February. Thank God he is recovering. I am just getting organized, but I took some time to start weaving a series of rugs that I want to place on the tables and dressers of Ale's friend's house where we are temporarily residing. They use wooden furniture here and since I didn't see any ornaments on them I wanted to weave a small and simple folder to start decorating.
Les había comentado que en la maleta había guardado todos los hilos del tipo pabilo que tenía disponible, también traje un poquito de estambre y lo que me quedaba de chenille. Pude traer mis agujas y ojos de seguridad. Mientras pueda comprar otros materiales estaré usando estos de los que dispongo.
Inicié el tejido con 12 puntos altos dentro de una anillo mágico. Luego fui realizando vueltas de aumentos. Quise sacar un diseño tipo red, sencillo que pudiera ir tejiendo sin necesidad de mucha combinación de puntos. Como pueden ver son solo puntos altos en cada vuelta. Para hacer que este tapete crezca fui haciendo aumentos antes de cada punto V.
I had told you that I had packed all the wick type yarn I had available in my suitcase, I also brought a little bit of yarn and what I had left of chenille. I was able to bring my needles and safety eyes. As long as I can buy other materials I will be using the ones I have.
I started the knitting with 12 stitches inside a magic ring. Then I made increasing rows. I wanted to make a simple net-like design that I could knit without the need for a lot of stitch combinations. As you can see, there are only high stitches in each row. To make this mat grow I was making increases before each V stitch.
Me gustó el hilo color beige ya que la madera de los muebles es color caoba. Estuve tejiendo por ratitos ya que mi hijo amerita atención. Quiero que sienta mucha confianza para hablar conmigo y mejore en cuanto al habla, para ello debo prestarle atención cuando la necesite. Como este tapete es de un diseño sencillo no olvidé nunca cual punto tocaba hacer al retomarlo.
I liked the beige yarn since the wood of the furniture is mahogany. I have been knitting for a while because my son needs attention. I want him to feel very confident to talk to me and improve his speech, so I need to give him attention when he needs it. As this rug is a simple design I never forgot which stitch to knit when I picked it up again.
No pude traer las tijeras, así que estoy usando un cortauñas para cortar la hebra. El tapete quedó super lindo. Sencillo, básico, pero muy bonito. Ya visualice donde voy a colocarlo. Se verá muy bien y la decoración de la casa 🏠 se complementará.
I couldn't bring the scissors, so I'm using a nail clipper to cut the yarn. The mat turned out super cute. Simple, basic, but very pretty. I already visualized where I'm going to place it. It will look great and the home decor 🏠 will complement it.
Este es mi cuarto día fuera de mi país. Estoy feliz y a la vez muy nerviosa porque jamás pensé que tendría que aprender de nuevo muchas cosas en un país diferente al mío. Dios así lo dispuso y solo le pido fortaleza y sabiduría para enfrentar estos cambios. Aquí todo es diferente, no soy muy diserta con la tecnología y me tocará poner empeño para aprender. Deseenme suerte amigos queridos.
This is my fourth day out of my country. I am happy and at the same time very nervous because I never thought I would have to learn many things again in a country different from mine. God arranged it this way and I only ask for strength and wisdom to face these changes. Here everything is different, I'm not very knowledgeable with technology and I will have to put my best effort to learn. Wish me luck dear friends.
