Okay, truth told, I wrote this post several months ago, and completely neglected to actually post it.
Sorry for that. I really haven't fallen into a black hole, though it occasionally feels that way, as I'm sure it likely may for some of you as well.
This has been a very strange time. This has so far been the single weirdest year in my life, and we're not even halfway through it yet. I am, in fact, reminded of the haiku I wrote for last month's post:
March was simply weird April is just as surreal And May? God help us.
God help us indeed.
Honestly, I really haven't been anxious to relive 1968, as even though I was only nine years old for most of the year, it was a highly stressful year; but frankly that seems to be where pResident Bunker Baby Bonespurs wants to lead us.
Most likely right before setting fire to the place, wherever he happens to find himself in the moment; I really don't think he cares what he destroys.
traitortrump is clearly determined to continually harass We the People, black, white, LGBTq+ and otherwise, in ways never before imagined from a president; including using excessive force to disperse peaceful protesters across the street from the White House, in order to make his deceitful photo opp at a church he DOES NOT ATTEND, holding a bible he NEITHER OWNS NOR READS, where he DID NOT PRAY, but where he DID desecrate the grounds of a place of worship with his utterly unholy presence.
As I told my husband, I was more than mildly surprised that the bible didn't burst into flames in its own act of protest.
It has been interesting, and a bit terrifying, watching the man-child-who-would-be-king devolve and become ever more desperate before our eyes, as his terror at losing the election grows, knowing that he will lose all legal immunities upon leaving office.
I'm sure it will prove fascinating to observe, as he begins throwing every single one of us under the bus, just to save his own unworthy ass.
The real irony is that, if he truly were a smart man, he would have realized that if he wanted to win the election, this was the perfect time to gather his nonexistent courage, walk across the street, and actually engage with the peaceful protesters, one on one, really hearing out their concerns and grievances, and treating them like fellow human beings.
But who am I kidding? The very idea that Trump could possibly see peaceful protesters as human beings? What on earth was I thinking? Not on his very best day.
Instead, we were "treated" to the spectacle of pResident Bunker Baby Bonespurs boy, fresh from cowering in the basement bunker, ordering the use of excessive force to disperse the PEACEFUL protesters, just so that he could waddle across the street to take his contemptible photo op, and in doing so make certain that people all over the world will instantly see and realize what a horrifically awful human being he truly is.
He COULD have looked PRESIDENTIAL, by doing the intelligent and right thing, and by ENGAGING with the protestors, and their legitimate grievances, he might have even gained some voters for his reelection in the process.
But no. #traitortrump would never do such a thing.
Look and act presidential? He hasn't got it in him, and never will.
Instead, he had the officers shoot tear gas and rubber bullets into a peaceful crowd, who were causing NO problem, without ANY provocation of any kind; thus affirming that he is the least patriotic, least intelligent, least honorable, least trustworthy pResident in our history, and he would KILL US ALL as a distraction against his plummeting poll numbers, and increasingly dismal chances of re-election.
Now he wants to bring military might to our local neighborhoods, if he doesn't try to start an all-out war, and since I for one have NO intention of reliving 1968, I WILL be making my voice heard, starting tonight.
To the entity known as the real Donald J. Trump; We the People of the United States of America want you to STAND DOWN NOW.
You have convinced the majority of us, beyond a reasonable doubt, that you are incapable of rational thought in times of duress, choose not to read or attend necessary briefings, golf and tweet rather than doing your job in any meaningful way; and are therefore utterly unprepared, and lack the knowledge, courage, dignity, or honor to fulfill your job requirements as president.
We have seen ample evidence of your declining mental faculties, your utter disregard for the safety and well-being of others, and your fear and loathing of people of color, especially when they are smarter and/or more accomplished than yourself.
We have witnessed, time and again, your utter inability to pull together coherent thoughts when speaking impromptu, your disregard for and lack of ability to grasp known facts, and your apparent inability to learn new things and process them in such a way that you can recall them long term.
These are not optional traits for Commander-in-Chief. They are mandatory and non-negotiable.
You have ably proven to the world that you are unfit to be president and should be summarily removed from office for gross negligence, gross dereliction of duty, abrogating your oath of office, and repeatedly, and without remorse, recklessly endangering the lives of others.

I'll post my May post tomorrow. Definitely a better option than tacking it to the end of this post.
