From Uniforms to Unforgettable Days

School life in Pakistan was a mix of chalk dust, discipline, dosti, and drama — all wrapped in a white and blue uniform.

I remember one day in 7th class, we had a surprise inspection. The headmistress walked in with her classic stern face and said, “Show me your nails and shoes.”

Panic.

My friend Alia quickly borrowed white chalk, rubbed it on her black shoes to "shine" them, and used a ruler to scrape dirt from her nails. She looked like she was fixing a car, not preparing for an inspection. When headmistress reached her, she paused, looked down at his chalk-covered shoes, and said, “Yeh polish factory lag rahi hai?”

Whole class burst out laughing. SHe got a warning, and legendary status.

But it wasn’t just the funny moments. There were those quiet days too — when we sat on the last bench, staring out the window, dreaming about what we’d become. When results scared us, when teachers motivated us, when small wins felt like big victories.

Who can forget the smell of samosas from the canteen, or the way friends saved you a seat in the front row during annual day? Or that one friend who always said, “Yaar mein ne kuch nahi parha” — and then scored the highest?

We didn’t realize back then that we were living the golden days.

Now, we scroll through old class photos and say, “What a time it was…”

To all those who lived those moments — may you never forget the joy of sharing one pencil, one desk, and a thousand laughs.

Thank you for reading and remembering these special moments with me. School days will always hold a special place in our hearts. Much love to my Hive family for keeping the memories alive.
