Today I saw a feel-good movement thing called "Just say, 'Hello'", or something like that. It was trying to encourage people to randomly go up to random people and just randomly say, "Hello." The hope was to meet people, bridge divides, be human, and teach young people how to actually speak with another human in person. It was well-intentioned.
Thing is, it was evidently from back during covid. So...everyone was wearing a mask! To me, it screamed: "Hello! How are you? Whoa! Don't get too close! I know you can't see my face and all, and don't get within 6 feet of me, but wanna be friends?" Not weird and awkward at all!
