When dealing with the Word of God we should put aside every human knowledge or intellect because they wouldn't do us much good I'm fully understanding the Word of God.
Psalms 94 vs11 The lord knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.
Some people hold the knowledge they possess with high esteem, but before God they are nothing but vanity. God knows each and everyone of us and contents of our thoughts. 1 Corinthians 1:19 says;
For it is written,I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
Prudent here means the human understanding. What the bible is trying to tell us is that no matter how prudent a man may see himself to be, it is of no use to him when it comes to comprehending the word of God. This is the reason why many people get the wrong ideas about certain portions in the bible. And also the reason why many do not believe in it because they are viewing it from a logical standpoint. By understand God's Word we need to first understand that it was given to us by God. The the word of God is something that was inspired the the Holy Spirit and revealed to men. Having this primary understanding is important.
Proverb 1 vs 23: Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.
Effective communication with things of the spirit requires spiritual consciousness. We should understand that God's Word is more than a piece of information, it is also a medium of God talking to us. So, for us to understand what God is saying it needs to be done in the spirit because those very words are spirit according to John 6:63.
