Every Country Needs An OUTA
OUTA is a privately funded organisation in South Africa that tackles legitimate cases protecting the citizens of the country from government abuse. Many big businesses give freely to this organisation and is a way of fighting back. The important part is they stand up for the rights of the people tackling the problem through legal means which often ends up with them winning the case making the government back down. Without this group everyone would be fighting these battles individually on their own and most likely would lose these cases.

The big battle they won was the toll roads which were implemented around the country on roads that has always been in place. Imagine your road you travel to work on every day is suddenly turned into a toll road and now you are receiving a monthly statement. This is what happened and I can recall receiving these toll bills which I refused to pay. These tolls were designed to fund the government pension funds and was a new idea cooked up and designed to steal even more money from the law abiding tax payers. When the toll road case was going on anyone arrested and being forced to pay the bill was told to contact OUTA immediately so they could be represented in court free of charge.
The latest project they have taken on is the solar installations many households and businesses have installed now being asked to register for ridiculous fees. I mentioned previously in a recent post I would need to register and pay R30K to my electricity provider even though I am helping them by using less electricity. They do not see it the same way as we are now stealing their revenue they have always been able to count on and since we are or were the ones paying the bills which is not everyone they are trying to nullify their losses.
OUTA has stated what they are doing or trying to do as law is unlawful and is targeting a set group of the community who have done nothing wrong by moving to solar power. They have told Eskom that the new regulations for registering these small solar systems under 100 KW is irrational, unfair, anti poor and discriminatory for everyone who has been forced to go the solar route.
They believe Eskom has overstepped their jurisdiction and that they have no say in what households can do and is up to the current compliance certifications for these installed small solar units. The current South African Bureau Standards code of practice covers these installations and Eskom do not have a say or any authority to dictate new registration policies involving certified engineers employed by Eskom. They also cannot have two separate billing methods for those without solar and those with solar as that again is discriminating against those with solar.
OUTA had this meeting with Eskom on Friday the 8th August and have asked everyone to please hold off registering their systems until they are advised by OUTA on the next steps if any are required. I think this is the power suppliers worst nightmare as they on legal grounds have no leg to stand on and are up against a funded legal system that has very deep pockets.
I had no intention of registering with the power suppliers anyway and this is going to be a great watch seeing how the power supplier has to back track. I know they have already visited my property and have taken pictures getting ready to try and bill me extra and force me to sign up by paying a registration fee. These people are all crooked and do not have any common sense when it comes to seeing how they can steal money. This was just another badly thought up scheme not knowing the legal ramifications of what they were planning. OUTA are not stupid and will win this case with Eskom and the power utility providers looking for another type of money scheme.
You may laugh when I say this, but can you imagine this government with carbon emissions and your personal carbon footprint on what measures they will try and cook up. Carbon is going to be the next biggest money making racket within the next few years and we are all in for a fight.
