Spicy Stuffed Green Chilies – A Flavorful Side Dish
Today, I’m sharing a recipe that isn’t meant to be eaten alone but instead enhances the flavor of any meal it’s paired with. These stuffed green chilies add a burst of spice and tanginess, making every bite more delicious.
Let’s start _
Ingredients:
Fresh green chilies (preferably thick ones)
4 tbsp coriander powder
1 tsp dry mango (amchur) powder
½ tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
1 tbsp crushed garlic
1-2 tbsp oil (for mixing and frying)
Juice of 1 lemon
Instructions:
Prepare the Chilies Start by washing the green chilies thoroughly and drying them completely. Then, make a single slit lengthwise on each chili and remove the seeds carefully. Set them aside.
Make the Spice Mix In a bowl, combine coriander powder, amchur powder, turmeric, salt, and crushed garlic. Add a little oil and mix well to form a coarse paste.
Stuff the Chilies Fill each slit chili with the prepared spice mixture, pressing gently to ensure the filling stays inside.
Fry the Chilies Heat some oil in a pan and place the stuffed chilies in it. Cook on low-medium heat, turning occasionally, for about 5 minutes until they soften and slightly char.
Final Touch Once cooked, transfer the chilies to a plate and drizzle fresh lemon juice over them for an extra tangy kick.
And that’s it! Your spicy stuffed green chilies are ready to serve. These pair wonderfully with dal-rice, parathas, or any Indian meal. In my home, they are an all-time favorite, and I always keep a batch ready. Try them out and let me know how you like them!
