Today I want to share about Eid Milad-un-Nabi, which is also known as Barah Wafat. It is the birth anniversary of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (S A W). This falls on the Islamic date 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal. We celebrate this day with great joy and devotion.
On this festival, people wear new clothes and prepare delicious dishes at home. In the evening, flags and banners in the name of the Prophet are taken out in processions, and everyone gathers to see them.
In my city, the night before Eid Milad-un-Nabi is truly special. The whole town is decorated with lights. Each area is beautifully decorated, and there is even a competition to see whose decorations are the best. The committee gives prizes to the winners, so everyone puts in their best effort.
On the day of Rabi-ul-Awwal, after the Zuhr prayer, a procession takes place. Flags are carried in remembrance of the Prophet Muhammad (S A W), and Naat Sharif is recited during the march.
Children enjoy this festival a lot. On the roadsides, shops are set up selling toys, food, and sweets. Families and friends walk around the city, enjoying the lights, the stalls, and the festive atmosphere. The place was so crowded that it was difficult even to take photos. There were people everywhere—nothing but a sea of crowd in all directions.
This celebration is not just about fun—it’s also about love and respect for our Prophet. Eid Milad-un-Nabi brings people together, spreads happiness, and fills the city with a special kind of glow.
