El pasado Jueves 3 de Julio fuimos parte de una experiencia inolvidable en Santa Cruz de la Sierra: El evento de lanzamiento oficial de la Meru Card, una tarjeta vinculada al ecosistema cripto que promete revolucionar la forma en la que usamos nuestras criptomonedas en la vida real.

Desde que vi un video en TikTok del organizador hablando sobre este evento, supe que no podía faltar. Ya había asistido anteriormente a una celebración por el hito histórico del Bitcoin superando los $100K, y el ambiente que se vive en estos encuentros es simplemente único. Pero esta vez había un atractivo más: iban a entregar las primeras tarjetas físicas de Meru Card a los asistentes. ¡Y claro que queríamos estar ahí!

El evento se llevó a cabo entre las 19:00 y las 21:00 horas en el exclusivo Centro Empresarial de Manzana 40, piso 7, una zona conocida por su estilo moderno y ambiente ejecutivo. Apenas llegamos, ya notamos que la convocatoria fue un éxito total. El lugar estaba tan lleno que casi no alcanzamos a entrar, pero por suerte lo logramos.

Entre los ponentes, destacaban figuras clave del mundo cripto y blockchain:

• Amilcar Erazo Perdomo, Co-fundador y CEO de Meru.

• Yoser Rodriguez Erazo, Co-fundador y Director de Operaciones de Meru.

• Alison Berbetty, abogada, activista y parte del core team de Ethereum Bolivia.

• Pedro Rey, co-fundador de Ethereum Bolivia y docente de Cripto Economía en la Universidad de Cuyo.

• Vanesa Cárdenas, ingeniera, educadora y promotora de proyectos blockchain y descentralización en Bolivia.

El evento no solo estuvo dirigido a expertos, sino también a estudiantes, empresarios, importadores y entusiastas del ecosistema cripto en general. Fue una verdadera fiesta del conocimiento y la inclusión financiera.

Una noche llena de aprendizaje, pero también de buena onda. Hubo:

Invitamos a algunos amigos para que nos acompañaran, y también nos reencontramos con otros conocidos del mundo tech y cripto que no veíamos hace tiempo. Aunque las tarjetas Meru no se entregaron esa noche, nos anotamos en la lista de entregas a domicilio, según nos informaron los organizadores.

Más allá de la tarjeta física, este tipo de eventos sirven para reafirmar que la tecnología blockchain en Bolivia está avanzando con pasos sólidos y comunitarios. La descentralización, la inclusión financiera y la educación en criptomonedas ya no son conceptos lejanos. ¡Están ocurriendo aquí y ahora!

Last Thursday, July 3, we were part of an unforgettable experience in Santa Cruz de la Sierra: The official launch event of the Meru Card, a card linked to the crypto ecosystem that promises to revolutionize the way we use our cryptocurrencies in real life.

Ever since I saw a video on TikTok of the organizer talking about this event, I knew I couldn't miss it. I had previously attended a celebration for the historic milestone of Bitcoin surpassing $100K, and the atmosphere at these gatherings is simply unique. But this time there was one more attraction: they were going to hand out the first physical Meru Cards to the attendees. ¡And of course we wanted to be there!

The event took place between 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm at the exclusive Manzana 40 Business Center, 7th floor, an area known for its modern style and executive atmosphere. As soon as we arrived, we noticed that the event was a complete success. The place was so full that we almost didn't manage to get in, but luckily we made it.

Among the speakers were key figures in the crypto and blockchain world:

• Amilcar Erazo Perdomo, Co-founder and CEO of Meru.

• Yoser Rodriguez Erazo, Co-founder and COO of Meru.

• Alison Berbetty, lawyer, activist and part of the core team of Ethereum Bolivia.

• Pedro Rey, co-founder of Ethereum Bolivia and professor of Crypto Economics at the University of Cuyo.

• Vanesa Cárdenas, engineer, educator and promoter of blockchain and decentralization projects in Bolivia.

The event was not only aimed at experts, but also students, entrepreneurs, importers and enthusiasts of the crypto ecosystem in general. It was a real party of knowledge and financial inclusion.

A night full of learning, but also of good vibes. There was:

We invited some friends to join us, and also reconnected with other acquaintances from the tech and crypto world that we hadn't seen in a while. Although the Meru cards were not delivered that night, we got on the home delivery list, as the organizers informed us.

Beyond the physical card, these types of events serve to reaffirm that blockchain technology in Bolivia is advancing with solid, community-based steps. Decentralization, financial inclusion and cryptocurrency education are no longer distant concepts. ¡They are happening here and now!
