file_0000000057e061f48d3b6efe156df53d.png When I first started learning about crypto, I kept hearing scary stories. People lost their coins because they trusted the wrong person, used weak passwords, or left everything on an exchange.

Even though I’ve never lost any of my own crypto, those stories taught me one important truth: crypto is powerful, but only if you protect it.

Today, I want to share some simple tips that can keep your crypto safe, even if you’re just starting out.

🔹 1. Not Your Keys, Not Your Coins

If your crypto is sitting on an exchange, you don’t really own it. The company does. That’s why I moved mine to wallets where I control the private keys. 👉 With wallets like Hive Keychain, I know I’m the one in charge.

🔹 2. Always Back Up Your Keys

Imagine forgetting your password and never being able to access your money again. That’s what happens if you lose your private keys. 👉 Write them down on paper and store them in a safe place. Don’t keep them on your phone or email.

🔹 3. Stay Away from “Too Good to Be True” Deals

If someone promises to double your money overnight, it’s almost always a scam. 👉 In crypto, slow and steady always wins.

🔹 4. Keep Learning

The crypto world changes fast. New projects, new coins, and new scams appear every day. 👉 I make it a habit to read Hive posts and follow trusted communities like LeoFinance to stay informed.

🔹 Finally

Crypto is like a treasure. But treasure needs protection. Even if you’ve never been hacked or scammed, taking precautions now means you’ll never have to tell a sad story later.

👉 My advice in two simple rules:

  1. Control your keys.
  2. Be careful who you trust.

💬 What about you? Do you also take extra steps to protect your crypto? Or maybe you’ve learned something new today? Share your thoughts in the comments; I’d love to hear them.
