This Season's Battlepass: Good Rewards, but...
Greetings everyone and welcome to another Gods Unchained post. This week I'm talking about the season 7 battlepass, which has good rewards, but they aren't worth the price tag to whale into it. Essentially those who bought the whale pass are dumping the exclusive cards for next to nothing to the point there is no need to buy the battlepass this time. Instead of costing $400 gods it ended up costing around 100ish gods to obtain Imp Taskmasters and dark lords. And the core packs filled with shiney cards are not something I'm looking forward to particularly. So that's about it, the reason I didn't buy the pass this time is I was able to get everything I wanted from it for a fraction of the cost on secondary. It really is that simple. The cards provided are good though, and actually something you probably want in your collection. The emotes and aesthetics are good and worth it if you are into it for just that, the cardback and other whale pass offerings costs a couple bucks on secondary so the whale pass is definitely a whale sized "pass" from me.

The Promo Card is a chase card that is STRONG
Dark Lord is a strong card that eliminates all spells in both players hands at 7 mana. If you are a creature focused deck this sortof obliterates the enemy hand of spells at no cost to you. This is a strong effect that murders a lot of popular combo/OTK/control archetypes and something you probably want in your collection. The imp taskmaster is a "fun" card but mostly a diamond filler for folks utilizing imps (death mostly). Implings being something they are trying to push to be used over zombies is definitely welcome.

Key Content Locked Behind the BP.... Again
Dark lord is definitely a key card that will be used in the future as a counter to various obnoxious decks going forward, but it will take some time to manifest. Similarly to pets etc. but the decks this card counters are plentiful. Definitely something you will want going forward if the game continues to exist. This card is locked behind the BP, or you can just get it for next to nothing on secondary the way I did.

Talking Tidbits: Completed, but not "Whaled"
I did complete this battlepass pretty fast, but didn't "whale in". There was definitely no reason to and I don't feel like money put into GU directly is really supporting development so I'm not amping myself up to "support the team" (when in reality it's just give the fergs money to fuck off somewhere else.) This battlepass did have good loot, people were just letting it go for nothing so I didn't feel the need to buy it. It's not exactly rocket science or anything like that, just basic math. I'm still trying to get a full collection in this shitty game even though it looks more and more grim each time I boot it up, would like to be able to play all the cards for fun in all the modes. It's not like there is a bustling tourney scene or anything either so the need to "keep up" isn't as present as it used to be. The only rewards are shiney packs for cards that will dump into nothing due to the rental/botting dynamic this game can't seem to shake. I've seen all of this happen before in web3 and lead to economic downturns, hell most of you have. Anyway that's my little summary of the battlepass this time around.
