My immediate thought for this contest was "well that's easy, I went to Ireland this year" and it's difficult to take a photo there that isn't 90% green. But then I thought that's a little boring and I should think outside the box a little bit.
You know what isn't green very often? The sky!
My entry to this week's #FPC
My entry is form May last year when I had hours advanced warning of an incoming solarstorm thanks to the space nerds at spaceweatherlive.com. I camped out in a field at 21:00GMT and that image was snapped around 23:00GMT just as other colours were starting to join the green.
Another hour and the sky absolutely exploded in colour. Better than any aurora display that I had previously seen in both Iceland and Alaska. And this was a 30 second walk from my home in East England!
I hope you've enjoyed my entry and I look forward to seeing other outside the box entries to this photo contest!
