This is my entry for The Friendlymoose Photocontest #FPC with this weeks topic "SYMMETRY". Go, join it!
When I read the topic of the contest, I immediately thought about the pictures I want to show you. The first one is my entry. I wanted to center the text too for symmetric reasons but that looks silly.
To be fair, the pictures are not new, but I think they fit the theme perfectly, so I'm happy to use them again in this short post.
In all of the pictures, the perfect symmetry is disrupted by small details. Some of them are red. But that's exactly what beauty is all about: the disturbance of perfection.
The first two pictures show a view from below of the “Waldschlößchenbrücke” bridge in Dresden. Have fun pronouncing that word! When this bridge got opened in 2013, Dresden lost its UNESCO World Heritage status because it “spoils” the Elbe Valley. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
In my opinion, the last pictures show the German sense of order and perfection. Extremely overdone, but somehow appealing nonetheless.
All photos are taken with a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra camera by me, @cryptozeug, unless otherwise stated. Polished with Affinity Photo, or not.
