Last time, I blogged my solo flight to Singapore for the first time! Now, I'll be sharing with you what I ate at Changi Airport upon arrival.

My trip to Singapore left me starving - both physically (even with the in-flight meal) and mentally (because I’m always craving more travel). Right after @gabbiebi picked me up, we made our way upstairs to the restaurants to get some dinner.

My first meal in Singapore wasn’t a local dish. Our priority at that time was to look for a comfy spot to sit with my luggage. We were walking around and randomly found Andes by Astons, and luckily, there were a few empty seats.

We sat at table number two.

Once we were seated, the first thing that caught my eye wasn't the menu, but the prices. The fact that I was actually in Singapore suddenly hit me. It's like the exchange rate was saying hello! 😆

We were handed a pencil and an order sheet along with the menu. It didn’t take us long to decide what to order since the menu consisted of mostly familiar dishes. After jotting down our choices, we paid at the counter and waited for our food.

the menu

@gabbiebi ordered Seafood Marinara with Cream of Mushroom soup. I opted for their All Day Special: Grilled chicken, Scrambled Egg, and Smoked chicken sausages with fries and rice. We just went with coke for our drinks. We waited around 5-10 minutes for our order, but it was all good ‘cause we used that time to talk about my trip.

@gabbiebi's order, Seafood Marinara

I took a bite of the Seafood Marinara and it was fantastic. The seafood taste was just right, complementing the creamy mushroom soup perfectly.

I got the All Day Special and added fries and rice on the side.

I forgot to customize my order though - I don't eat scrambled eggs, so @gabbiebi got to enjoy that one. The meal was basic but satisfying, well at least for me.

I couldn't help but mentally convert the prices to my home currency. The Seafood Marinara was 11.9 SGD (about PHP 516) and the All Day Special was 17.9 SGD (around PHP 776). Was it worth it? Absolutely! The portions were just right and the taste didn't disappoint.

It’s always an adventure to try out a different restaurant in another country, as it gives us a whole new experience.

If you happen to be at Changi Airport and in need of a satisfying meal, consider giving Andes by Astons a try, you won't be disappointed.
