This Affordable Fried Food Spot with Retro Vibes is Worth the Walk | Tarsier Fried Food

One thing I love about walking around and hitting my step goal, aside from clearing my head, I also get to discover new places. I work from home so going out is always a treat. We were just walking around Mitsukoshi Mall in BGC when we saw this sign that said **TFF**. We already hit our 7,000 steps, so we thought, why not treat ourselves?  **TFF** stands for **Tarsier Fried Food**, and yes, everything on the menu is fried! When we walked in, it wasn’t crowded. The place looked cool. It has this retro vibes but bright and clean. It kinda reminded me of Filling Station in Makati, just with more light.  _{inside TFF} Before ordering, I did my usual thing, checking other people’s food to see the serving size. When I try a new dining place, I usually go small first, just to make sure I like it. Good thing Gabbie was with me. It’s always better to share so I can try more dishes without feeling guilty if I can’t finish the food. Everything on the menu is affordable, all under ₱300 / 5.24 USD! We ordered **Yang Chow Fried Rice** (₱195 / 3.41 USD), **crispy sweet and sour pork** (₱185 / 3.23 USD) , **chicken popcorn** (₱120 / 2.10 USD), **fried siomai** (₱85 / 1.48 USD), and **golden cheesy balls** (₱85 / 1.84 USD), plus two Cokes. What’s nice is you can actually watch them cook your fried rice right by the counter. You can smell it while waiting!  They also have a self-service station where you can grab utensils, condiments, and free refillable soup. I love that! The place itself is neat and spacious. They have random quotes on the ceiling, which added to the retro feel.  One thing that caught my eye though, right behind us was a sign that said “Highly Recommeds.” The English teacher in me noticed it right away. Was it a typo or a marketing trick? Funny because I saw the same in their Lucky Chinatown branch too!  Our food came quick and wow, servings were big! The fried rice alone is good for two. Glad we didn’t order another one. The yang chow fried rice was surprisingly good. It was the highlight for me. It was heavy enough for a full meal.  _{Yang Chow Fried Rice} Their crispy sweet and sour pork is crispy and tasty even if it's just a fried pork and a bit of sauce. The chicken popcorn is decent and worth it since you get a whole bowl.  _{crispy sweet and sour pork & chicken popcorn} The golden cheesy balls was not for me (I'm not a cheese fan!) but Gabbie liked it. I don't eat siomai with rice so I waited a while to finish my meal before I get to eat this one. It was like any other fried siomai though. I’d definitely come back to try their other fried rice because that was the highlight for me!
