Hello, Hive family and friends. How are you feeling right now? I hope you are doing well as you read this blog. Let me share with you another celebration of life.
We all come and gather together to celebrate special occasions like birthdays. It is a way of giving value to a person's existence. And our presence is the most important present that a celebrant would receive.
Last week, we received another invitation from my wife's friend and colleague. It was her granddaughter's first birthday. We were told that there will be a kids party, and she wants our kids to join it. We planned to come over at one in the afternoon, but we had to look for the birth certificate of our daughter, which was misplaced. We need to find it because she can't go with us on our vacation without it. We stopped looking for the certificate and decided to go to the party at 4 o'clock since our friend was already looking for us.
When we arrived at their house, an entrance of balloons welcomed us as we got inside the gate. When Ma'am Rose saw us, she welcomed us and told us to get inside the house to have dinner. Other guests outside were done with theirs and continued the kids party. I took some photos as they sang the happy birthday song to the baby, who turned one year old. The mom and dad of Xanthea helped her blow out the lit candle. Her mom then expressed her gratitude to all the people who came and celebrated with them the gift of life their daughter received from heaven.
We had dinner with my wife's other colleagues. We had a conversation about our planned vacation. They were so excited and discussed some important reminders for getting on the plane. And we shared that we were still looking for the birth certificate of our daughter and hoping it could be found since only a day left, and we'll start our 6-day trip to Baguio City and Manila. They got worried too and told us to ask for an identification card from the daycare center. We responded that it would be the last recourse.
Ma'am Rose gave us some ice cream. And Jehoia was so happy about it. It's one of her favorite cold desserts. There is fruit salad on the table too. But I preferred to have the delicious ice cream. We were enjoying the conversation while the guests outside were also enjoying the party with the very energetic host they hired from the city. The kids received their prizes from the games, and they were very happy to have them.
The host invited the kids for a photo opportunity. She asked them to shout a happy birthday to Xanthea. They also did the number sign and other poses. The adults also joined the pictorial, and they also did the same with the kids. My wife and her colleagues once gathered had a lot of topics to discuss. It cannot be denied that they are educators and fond of talking about many things.
After staying for two hours, we want to go home so we can continue searching for the certificate. But ma'am Rose told us to bring some foods. She was about to pack some for her relatives, and I helped to do it. I chopped the lechon and packed it in plastic. Her daughter also asked for help to give some to her friends. And of course, they don't want us to go without our packed lechon. It is common on occasions like this here in the Philippines to give some food to be brought home.
We then bid goodbye to Ma'am Rose and her family. When we arrived home, my wife continued looking for the certificate, and gladly she found it. We felt relieved and got more excited. It was a beautiful day celebrating the birthday of Xanthea. Family and friends gathered and enjoyed it. It was indeed a blessing as we grew faithful and valued the fellowship of our circle of friends.
In this life, we need a support. Having it from our friends is something we have to treasure. Their encouragement and appreciation would mean a lot and could even move us forward to a better moment in our lives. Let us learn not to give up, even in difficult times. Even if there are people who don't care to help and would do everything to ruin our plans, There is truly calmness after a storm.
