Exploring the Beauty of the Botanic Gardens

Earlier today, I was queuing for my regular medical exam. Although I arrived at the clinic a bit early, there were already many people waiting in line. I never expected so many others to have prepared ahead of me. A valuable lesson I learned today is to never underestimate the punctuality of others, and I’m really impressed by it.

I'm not really a fan of queuing because it makes me feel unproductive, and it also tempts me to watch silly videos on YouTube or TikTok. So, I'd rather not wait in line for that reason. But since I didn’t have a choice, I decided to stick with it. To avoid wasting time, I wrote today's post while in the queue.

Today, I want to share my adventures from last Sunday at Botanic Gardens.

The reason I went there was to create short videos for my YouTube and TikTok pages. I'm still learning about videography, so I wanted to practice in a place where I could feel relaxed. Besides, it's one of the best spots in the city to enjoy nature. I say that because it's a large garden with a variety of unique landscapes and plenty of amenities.

It’s one of the best places to visit, especially on weekends, and it costs nothing. That’s probably one of the reasons why so many people spend their day in this park. Once you enter the garden, you won’t feel like you’re in the city anymore. You won’t smell the city or hear any noise at all. The park effectively buffers the sights and sounds of the city, creating a peaceful escape.

During my previous visit, the lotus plants had not bloomed yet, but last Sunday, they were already in full bloom, and they looked really beautiful. I would say they are the best attraction in the freshwater pond area. There are only two color varieties—red and white—but they are actually larger in size compared to the ones I saw at the ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay.

There is another attraction in the middle of the park that’s worth visiting—the Bamboo Orchid Garden. This spot has been undergoing continuous grooming, and now it looks great! The bamboo orchids have grown so tall that they’re even taller than me. 😄

Overall, this park offers a refreshing escape from the city’s hustle and bustle, making it a perfect spot for relaxation and nature appreciation. Whether you're admiring the vibrant lotus blooms or exploring the serene Bamboo Orchid Garden, there's always something beautiful to enjoy. If you haven’t been here yet, I highly recommend adding it to your weekend plans! 😊🌿
