I've been trying to remember the last time I looked back over a month, quarter or even a year and concluded "That was amazing!"

Unless, of course, your sense of what constitutes amazing is rooted in the negative...

Mine is not. I take no joy in the negative, particularly not in a schadenfreude sort of way.

So yeah, the 3rd quarter was nothing to write home about. Business was not good, with sales continuing a slow downward slide. The cost of pretty much everything continues to rise at a rate that far exceeds the "officially" reported numbers. The price of cat food goes up, while the bags get smaller. Hive continued its long slow downward slide towards oblivion, in spite of the fact that some altcoins did quite well.

No, I'm not going to "buy the dip" because a multiple year slow decline is not a "dip," it's something rather more ominous and depressing. But I am also not packing up and leaving... after all, I enjoy the community here, and I enjoy writing an occasional blog post and sharing cat photos on Snaps!

With just one quarter left in 2025, it seems unlikely that I will reach any of the goals I set for the year. But that doesn't mean that I am going to slow down or give up, either!

That does seem like one of the challenges we often have to navigate in life: How to keep strong and enthusiastic in the face of setbacks and disappointment.

"Dont be a quitter!"

It's not always easy to feel inspired enough to stay the course.

That said... my goal was to get to 1,000 HP by the end of the year, so I shall endeavor to just that!

My previous hopes of starting to invest in some of Hive's "dividend bearing" projects — and I don't just mean HBD — will have to wait till 2026. Recently had to pull out my HBD savings balance to help pay a bill. I suppose I should be grateful that at least I had a small cushion...
