When we spend time with God, with our father, we gain much more courage and spiritual strength.
After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord spoke to Joshua son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying: 2 "My servant Moses is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to the children of Israel. 3 I have given you, as I spoke to Moses, every place where you set your foot. 4 From the wilderness and Lebanon to the great river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites to the great sea where the sun sets, shall be your territory. 5 No one shall be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will not fail you nor forsake you. 6 Be strong and courageous; For you shall assign to this people as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. 7 Only be strong and very courageous, and be careful to do according to all the law that Moses my servant commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, so that you may prosper in all that you do. 8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success. 9 See, I command you: Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:1-9
Surely when we simply mention this text, you already remember what it says because we are very familiar with this text that says, "Be strong and courageous..." But if we look at the full context of this passage, we can understand that strength and courage don't come simply from hearing these words, but rather through daily reading of the Holy Scriptures, that is, reading the Word of God. This involves spending time with God reading His Word; this should be a priority in our lives.
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says the Lord. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10 For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it sprout and bring forth, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, 11 so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth. It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I please, and it will prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
Isaiah 55:8-11
When we walk daily with God, we are fully confident in His control. Regardless of whether the moment is joyful or the most difficult trials, we can bring everything that happens in our lives to Him. God gives us comfort and rejoices with us, even while He accompanies us in all our needs.
It is important to adopt the habit of Bible reading and prayer. Let us ask God not to speak about what we are about to read, but to show us our privileges as children of God. Through the reading of His Word, let us wait for His Holy Spirit to guide us and strengthen us in different circumstances. Without focusing on what we are struggling with, God restores our lives, gives us relief, and renews our strength to continue running this spiritual race.
Today, we live a super-fast life without activities and many distractions. That is why we must develop the habit of having a time of prayer and study of the Word of God every day. Doing so frequently will allow us to remain steadfast no matter what adversities we face. God always helps us.
Cuando pasamos tiempo con Dios, con nuestro padre, adquirimos mucho más valor y fortaleza espiritual.
Aconteció después de la muerte de Moisés siervo de Jehová, que Jehová habló a Josué hijo de Nun, servidor de Moisés, diciendo: 2 Mi siervo Moisés ha muerto; ahora, pues, levántate y pasa este Jordán, tú y todo este pueblo, a la tierra que yo les doy a los hijos de Israel. 3 Yo os he entregado, como lo había dicho a Moisés, todo lugar que pisare la planta de vuestro pie. 4 Desde el desierto y el Líbano hasta el gran río Éufrates, toda la tierra de los heteos hasta el gran mar donde se pone el sol, será vuestro territorio. 5 Nadie te podrá hacer frente en todos los días de tu vida; como estuve con Moisés, estaré contigo; no te dejaré, ni te desampararé. 6 Esfuérzate y sé valiente; porque tú repartirás a este pueblo por heredad la tierra de la cual juré a sus padres que la daría a ellos. 7 Solamente esfuérzate y sé muy valiente, para cuidar de hacer conforme a toda la ley que mi siervo Moisés te mandó; no te apartes de ella ni a diestra ni a siniestra, para que seas prosperado en todas las cosas que emprendas. 8 Nunca se apartará de tu boca este libro de la ley, sino que de día y de noche meditarás en él, para que guardes y hagas conforme a todo lo que en él está escrito; porque entonces harás prosperar tu camino, y todo te saldrá bien. 9 Mira que te mando que te esfuerces y seas valiente; no temas ni desmayes, porque Jehová tu Dios estará contigo en dondequiera que vayas.
Josué 1:1-9
Seguramente cuando simplemente mencionamos este texto ya recuerdas lo que dice debido a que estamos muy familiarizado con este texto que dice "mira que te mando que te esfuerces y seas valiente…". Pero si vemos todo el contexto de este pasaje podemos entender que la fortaleza y el valor no viene simplemente por escuchar estas palabras sino que la obtenemos mediante la lectura diaria de las sagradas escrituras, es decir, la lectura de la palabra de Dios. Esto consiste en pasar tiempo con Dios leyendo su palabra, esto debe ser prioridad en nuestras vidas.
Porque mis pensamientos no son vuestros pensamientos, ni vuestros caminos mis caminos, dijo Jehová. 9 Como son más altos los cielos que la tierra, así son mis caminos más altos que vuestros caminos, y mis pensamientos más que vuestros pensamientos. 10 Porque como desciende de los cielos la lluvia y la nieve, y no vuelve allá, sino que riega la tierra, y la hace germinar y producir, y da semilla al que siembra, y pan al que come, 11 así será mi palabra que sale de mi boca; no volverá a mí vacía, sino que hará lo que yo quiero, y será prosperada en aquello para que la envié.
Isaías 55:8-11
Cuando caminamos diariamente con Dios, estamos confiados plenamente en su control, independientemente que el momento sea de alegría o en las más duras pruebas podemos llevarle a su presencia todo lo que acontece en nuestras vidas, Dios nos da consuelo y se regocija con nosotros aún nos acompaña en todas nuestras necesidades.
Es importante tomar el hábito de la lectura bíblica y la oración, pidamos a Dios que no hable sobre lo que vamos a leer y que nos muestre acerca de nuestros privilegios como hijos de Dios, esperemos en el a través de la lectura de su palabra que su espíritu Santo nos guíe y nos fortalezca en las diferentes circunstancias. Sin enfocarnos contra que estamos luchando, Dios para restaurar nuestra vida, nos da alivio, renueva nuestras fuerzas para seguir corriendo esta carrera espiritual.
Hoy vivimos en una vida Super acelerada sin actividades y muchísimas distracciones y es por eso que debemos desarrollar el hábito para para tener cada día un tiempo de oración y de estudio de la palabra de Dios, hacerlo con frecuencia nos permitirá mantenernos firmes sin importar las adversidades que enfrentemos, Dios nos ayuda siempre.
