There are times when we think about giving up. That's when we need to examine ourselves and ask God for wisdom, to ask for strength so that we may follow His ways and continue fulfilling His will.
The angel who was speaking with me came back and woke me up, like a man awakened from his sleep. 2 And he said to me, "What do you see?" And I answered, "I looked, and behold, a lampstand all of gold, with a basin above it, and its seven lamps on top of the lampstand, and seven tubes for the lamps on top of it; 3 And beside it were two olive trees, one on the right side of the basin and the other on the left side of it. 4 Then I spoke to the angel who was speaking with me, "What is this, my lord?" 5 And the angel who was speaking with me answered and said to me, "Do you not know what this is?" And I said, "No, my lord." 6 Then he answered and spoke to me, saying, "This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel, saying, 'Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the Lord of hosts. 7 'Who are you, O great mountain? You will be reduced to a plain before Zerubbabel; he will bring forth the cornerstone with shouts of, "Give it grace, give it grace."' 8 The word of the Lord came to me, saying, '9 The hands of Zerubbabel will lay the foundation of this house, and his hands will finish it; and you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent me to you.'"

Let's agree that just thinking about it, we are filled with a beautiful feeling of a single fact: imagining that fulfilling God's will and following His path is very easy, but the reality is not like that; we are presented with obstacles daily. When Zerubbabel felt overwhelmed by the situation, God sent a prophet to encourage them and get them out of that situation.
He was responsible for building the first temple during those times of peace and prosperity under Solomon's reign, a time when they had abundant wealth and people working to choose such a temple. But then times changed when the Jews returned after being held captive for 70 years in Babylon. The situation changed completely. They were very few in number, they were also attacked by their enemies and often destroyed, resources were already scarce everywhere, and Jerusalem lay in ruins. Thus, we see some principles that strengthened Babel during the reign.
In today's reading, we learn that we cannot carry out God's work solely with our human strength. It is God's Holy Spirit who gives us wisdom and power, filling us with strength to follow His will and thus complete the work God has entrusted to us.
And we understand that when it is God who calls us, no matter how complex the situation, difficult or impossible, when we feel that sensation or impulse to give up, that is when we must lift our eyes and see all those difficulties through God's eyes. God will work and clear our paths so that we can walk through any impediment and thus fulfill His will.
If today God is asking us to do something that seems impossible, let us present ourselves before Him in prayer and ask Him to give us hope and strength to continue; He will do it.
Hay momentos en que pensamos en darnos por vencido, en ese momento es cuando tenemos que revisarnos y pedir sabiduría a Dios, pedirle fuerzas para que sigamos sus caminos y sigamos cumpliendo su voluntad.
Volvió el ángel que hablaba conmigo, y me despertó, como un hombre que es despertado de su sueño. 2 Y me dijo: ¿Qué ves? Y respondí: He mirado, y he aquí un candelabro todo de oro, con un depósito encima, y sus siete lámparas encima del candelabro, y siete tubos para las lámparas que están encima de él; 3 Y junto a él dos olivos, el uno a la derecha del depósito, y el otro a su izquierda. 4 Proseguí y hablé, diciendo a aquel ángel que hablaba conmigo: ¿Qué es esto, señor mío? 5 Y el ángel que hablaba conmigo respondió y me dijo: ¿No sabes qué es esto? Y dije: No, señor mío. 6 Entonces respondió y me habló diciendo: Esta es palabra de Jehová a Zorobabel, que dice: No con ejército, ni con fuerza, sino con mi Espíritu, ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos. 7 ¿Quién eres tú, oh gran monte? Delante de Zorobabel serás reducido a llanura; él sacará la primera piedra con aclamaciones de: Gracia, gracia a ella. 8 Vino palabra de Jehová a mí, diciendo: 9 Las manos de Zorobabel echarán el cimiento de esta casa, y sus manos la acabarán; y conocerás que Jehová de los ejércitos me envió a vosotros.

Convengamos que con sólo pensar, nos invade una hermosa sensación de un solo hecho imaginarnos que cumplir la voluntad de Dios y seguir su camino es muy fácil, pero la realidad no es así, se nos presentan obstáculos a diario. Cuando Zorobabel se sintió abrumado por la situación Dios envió un profeta para alentarles y sacarle de esa situación.
Aquel quien se ocupó de construir el primer templo en esos momentos de paz y prosperidad bajo el reinado de Salomón, momento en que tenían abundancia de riquezas y personas que estaban trabajando para elegir semejante templo. Pero luego el tiempo cambió cuando volvieron los judíos después de estar cautivos durante Durante 70 años en Babilonia, así la situación cambió totalmente ya que eran muy pocos, también eran atacados por sus enemigos y muchas veces destruido, los recursos ya escaseaban por doquier y Jerusalén se encontraba destruida en ruina. Así vemos unos principios que fortalecían a soro Babel en los tiempos del reinado.
La lectura de hoy aprendemos que la obra de Dios no podemos llevarla a cabo solamente con nuestras fuerzas humanas, es el espíritu Santo de Dios quien nos da sabiduría y poder, nos llena de fuerzas para seguir su voluntad y así completar la obra que Dios nos ha encomendado.
Y entendemos que cuándo es Dios quien nos llama, por más compleja que sea la situación, difícil o imposible, cuando sentimos esa sensación o impulso a querer rendirnos, es cuando debemos alzar nuestra mirada y ver todas esas dificultades a través de los ojos de Dios, Dios obrará y limpiar a nuestros caminos para que podamos caminar atravesando cualquier impedimento y así cumplir su voluntad.
Si hoy Dios nos está pidiendo algo que parece imposible, presentémosnos delante de él en oración y pidamos que nos dé esperanzas y fuerzas para seguir, él lo hará.
