Es nuestro penúltimo día en Málaga, el último para pasear, pues al día siguiente retornaríamos a Torredembarra. Era un día para hacer lo que quisiéramos, pues el hijo y la nuera trabajaban, mi hija planificó un paseo para un pueblo llamado Benalmádena, que ella ya conocía y quería llevarme a visitar dos bellos castillos y otros espacios turísticos que lo caracterizan. Desayunamos y a las 9 de la mañana ya estábamos tomando el tren para llegar a este acogedor y pintoresco pueblo, que se encuentra ubicado a media hora de Málaga. No sé por qué razón lo sentí como un lugar alejado de todo, de allí que le colocara ese título al post. Vayamos al paseo. >It is our penultimate day in Málaga, the last one for strolling, as the next day we would return to Torredembarra. >It was a day to do whatever we wanted, as my son and daughter-in-law were working. My daughter planned a trip to a town called Benalmádena, which she already knew and wanted to take me to visit two beautiful castles and other tourist spots that characterize it. >We had breakfast and by 9 in the morning we were already taking the train to reach this cozy and picturesque town, which is located half an hour from Málaga. I don't know why I felt it was a place far from everything, which is why I gave that title to the post. Let's go for a walk.   Al llegar al pueblo nos dirigimos a la parada de autobús para tomar el que nos acercaría a Benalmádena Pueblo, digamos que es la parte antigua con sus casas blancas, sus calles empedradas y miradores por todos lados. >Upon arriving at the town, we headed to the bus stop to take the one that would take us to Benalmádena Pueblo, let's say it's the old part with its white houses, cobblestone streets, and viewpoints everyplace.   Ya en el autobús la conductora nos informó que los castillos que queríamos visitar estaban cerrados por ser lunes, información que no sale en la página, o nosotras no la vimos, sabíamos cómo llegar a cada uno y el valor de las entradas. La entrada al Castillo El Bil-Bil, tiene un valor de 15€, me hubiese gustado conocerlo porque su arquitectura y temática está centrada en el mundo islámico, me comentaba mi hija que es opulento, mostrando poderío y riqueza. >Already on the bus, the driver informed us that the castles we wanted to visit were closed because it was Monday, information that is not on the website; we knew how to get to each one and the ticket prices. >The entrance to El Bil-Bil Castle costs €15. I would have liked to visit it because its architecture and theme are centered around the Islamic world. My daughter told me that it is opulent, showcasing power and wealth.  El Castillo Monumento Colomares, me hacía ilusión conocerlo porque es un castillo de construcción reciente (1987) en homenaje a Cristóbal Colón y su llegada a América y allí, en esa historia, Venezuela, mi país, tiene parte de sus raíces como pueblo. El valor de la entrada es de 10€. Con un poco de desencanto, entramos a un lindo café para tomarnos algo y buscar los otros lugares para visitar, había muchos lugares solo era cuestión de caminar, así que con el mejor ánimo nos dispusimos a recorrer el pueblo. >The Colomares Castle Monument, I was excited to visit because it is a recently built castle (1987) in homage to Christopher Columbus and his arrival in America, and there, in that history, Venezuela, my country, has part of its roots as a people. The entrance fee is €10. >With a bit of disappointment, we entered a lovely café to have something to drink and look for other places to visit. There were many places; it was just a matter of walking, so with the best attitude, we set out to explore the town.   Por la primera calle que llamó nuestra atención cruzamos, estaba decorada con globos porque el día anterior cerraron la semana de feria y la celebración de su patrona la Virgen de la Cruz, a pocos paso encontramos la Plaza Andalucía, un hermoso y sombreado espacio que invita a la contemplación y el descanso, no paramos en ella porque ¡No estábamos cansadas! >We crossed the first street that caught our attention, it was decorated with balloons because the day before they had closed the fair week and the celebration of their patroness, the Virgin of the Cross. A few steps away, we found Plaza Andalucía, a beautiful and shaded space that invites contemplation and rest. We didn't stop there because we weren't tired!   Siguiendo por esa misma calle me encontré con un negocio muy bonito de esencias, perfumes y jabones, pero lo que realmente captó mi atención eran unos juguetes infantiles muy bellos, entré y conseguí un regalo que estaba buscando en los lugares que he visitado. >Continuing along that same street, I came across a very beautiful shop selling essences, perfumes, and soaps, but what really caught my attention were some very lovely children's toys. I went in and found a gift I had been looking for in the places I had visited.  Recorrimos algunas calles, disfrutando de los detalles de sus fachadas, el cuidado de las plantas que le dan un toque de alegría y vida. Así llegamos a la Plaza España. >We walked thru some streets, enjoying the details of their facades, the care of the plants that give a touch of joy and life. Thus, we arrived at the Wall Gardens. A beautiful place where the Church of Santo Domingo and an extensive viewpoint are located.     Andando y andando llegamos a los Jardines del Muro. Un precioso lugar donde se encuentra la iglesia de Santo Domingo y un extenso mirador. >Walking and walking, we arrived at the Gardens of the Wall. Desde el mirador se observa la costa y entre los altos árboles destaca el fantasioso Castillo Colomares, del que ya les comenté, con el zoom logré este acercamiento. Bajando algunos peldaños se encuentran estos estanques que le dan al lugar un toque muy romántico. >From the viewpoint, you can see the coast and among the tall trees, the whimsical Colomares Castle stands out, which I already mentioned to you. >Going down a few steps, you will find these ponds that give the place a very romantic touch.   Les cuento un pequeño percance que tuvimos para salir del lugar. Las calles para acceder al jardín están en reparación, subimos esquivando huecos, saltando cables y materiales de construcción, llegamos y como observaron, era todo precioso, buscando la salida, vimos un ascensor, así que nos montamos y bajamos ¡Sorpresa!, nos quedamos encerradas, ni para arriba ni para abajo. >I'll tell you about a little mishap we had when leaving the place. The streets leading to the garden are under repair, we went up dodging potholes, jumping over cables and construction materials, we arrived and as you observed, it was all beautiful, looking for the exit, we saw an elevator, so we got in and went down. Surprise! We got stuck, neither up nor down.  Tocamos la alarma y nada, llamamos a un número y después de varios intentos respondieron, ambas operadoras, alguien logró abrir y salimos, pero no había a quien reportar la avería para que colocarán alguna advertencia de no utilizar, un pequeño susto y, a continuar nuestra visita. De allí salimos dispuestas a ir a la Estupa Budista, lo que significó una caminata en pendiente de aproximadamente veinticinco minutos bajo el inclemente sol del mediodía, cuando llegamos a lo plano lo primero que vimos fue un polideportivo con un cafetín abierto, entramos a descansar y tomar algo refrescante, les cuento que la cerveza no es mi bebida favorita pero, en esos momentos, como cae de bien, ja,ja,ja.  Ya nuevamente en forma salimos a buscar la Estupa que por su impresionante altura se veía desde donde estábamos. Efectivamente es un templo muy grande, según nos comentó un joven que hacía ejercicio en la puerta, es la más grande de occidente. No nos tomó de sorpresa que estuviese cerrada, la visita es gratuita, merodeamos un rato por el lugar y tomamos fotografías. >We pressed the alarm and nothing happened, we called a number and after several attempts, they answered, both operators. Someone managed to open it and we got out, but there was no one to report the malfunction to so they could put up a warning not to use it, a little scare and then we continued our visit. >From there, we set out to go to the Buddhist Stupa, which meant a walk uphill for about twenty-five minutes under the relentless midday sun. When we reached the flat area, the first thing we saw was a sports complex with an open café. We went in to rest and have something refreshing. I must tell you that beer is not my favorite drink, but at that moment, how good it felt, haha. >Once we were back in shape, we set out to find the Stupa, which could be seen from where we were due to its impressive height. Indeed, it is a very large temple, according to a young man who was exercising at the door, it is the largest in the West. It didn't surprise us that it was closed; the visit is free. We wandered around the place for a while and took some photos.   Justo al frente queda el mariposario, con una hermosa estructura oriental, la verdad es que no me motivó pagar los 15€ para conocerlo. >Right in front is the butterfly house, with a beautiful Japanese structure. To be honest, I wasn't motivated to pay the €15 to visit it.  A pocos metros queda la parada de autobús para volver a la ciudad, nos dirigimos hacia allá y en el corto trayecto hay dos lugares: Gruta de la Virgen de Lourdes y el Parque Rústico Retamar, ambos resultaban poco atractivos para acercarse. >A few meters away is the bus stop to return to the city, we headed there and on the short journey there are two places: Grotto of the Virgin of Lourdes and the Rustic Park Retamar, both seemed unappealing to visit.   De esta manera dimos por terminada la visita al pueblo de Benalmádena, estoy segura que hacía la costa debe haber lugares hermosos para conocer, sin embargo, la recomendación es que si andas en plan turístico, el día lunes no es el mejor para visitarlo. >In this way, we concluded our visit to the town of Benalmádena. I am sure there are beautiful places to see along the coast; however, the recommendation is that if you are on a tourist plan, Monday is not the best day to visit it.
