Greetings, friends of @holos-lotus. Today I bring you a proposal that takes us a little out of the theme of introspection that I usually work on in the Integral and expanding column, but it is still an interesting exercise that leads us to our main goal, to achieve a greater integral wellbeing.
Making life easy for us is not as easy as it is said and written, because everyday life is full of events that can cause overwhelm leading us to harmful states that in the medium and long term undermine our health such as stress and anxiety, making our daily lives an endless chain where each situation we see as stones to jump or walls to climb.
Why make it easy if you can make it hard, is a phrase that captures an attitude, the attitude of complicating things beyond the normal, understanding by normal that which is part of the routine, the daily life, such as: cooking, fixing the house, shopping, going to work, taking and picking up the children to school and complementary activities, attending to your personal care, visiting parents, creating content, watering plants, caring for pets and so on.
Most of these tasks, at some point, we decided the way we would do them and we have years doing them the same way, even when it does not make our life easier, then we start the day already tired because we know that the routine ahead of us is exhausting, but it does not cross our mind to improve what we are doing or if we do not realize that there we have a focus of stress, we do not manage to find a way to make it more bearable, easier.
It is at this point where I want us to stop because when we realize that something causes us stress, or any physical or mental discomfort, I am convinced that for mere survival, we invent a way to minimize these effects and it is not by not doing what we have committed to do, but by looking carefully how we can do it differently to feel better.
From this idea is born today's invitation, to share the strategies that we implement to live with greater ease and less daily stress. I share one of mine.
When I started making to-do lists, I felt a little ashamed, because I associated them with "old age", since I remembered my grandmothers making lists when they went to the market or to the grocery store to do the shopping. My mother, from a very young age, I always saw her making lists and even though she was young, for me it was a lady's business.
I remember that having two jobs, studying and with a child, the routine became overwhelming, I would go to the supermarket and bring a number of things, but many other things that were necessary and important I would not buy, which was frustrating when I realized that I would have to return to the place to complement the market.
It also happened to me that I did not make the payment of services on time, because I forgot or did not have time, then I said to myself: tomorrow I will do it, or something that I considered important to do, for example, to take some shoes to the shoemaker to change the heel caps, they stayed at home and I only realized it when I was at the door of the store.
In short, it was a chain of actions that generated unnecessary stress and the easy and practical solution I had seen all my life: Making lists! A deliberate, simple and quick action that makes my life much easier, because far from being a matter of "old ladies", it is planning and organizing yourself, saving you time, money and stressful situations.
Just like this, I am sure you have found strategies that make your daily life easier, providing you with greater well-being. I invite you to share them and thank you in advance for helping us to have healthier and more satisfying days.
