Significant person [ENG-ESP]

Greetings, friends at @silverbloggers. Who is the person in your life that you will never forget? That is the question posed to us this week by our friends at @silverbloggers. As soon as I read it, my memory immediately began searching, and several real and fictional characters came to mind. Choosing one was not so difficult, as each of those who came to mind were, from different angles, significant and have left their mark. Among them are: Eckhart Tolle, with his book *The Power of Now*. I will always remember that this book opened my eyes to a world of understanding about life, to giving the present moment its supreme value, that unique and precious moment that is now. *Francesca*, a character played by the masterful Meryl Streep in the movie *The Bridges of Madison* County. Francesca, a character who moved me deeply because of her loneliness, her decision-making process, and the decision she ultimately makes based on others and not on what she wants for her life. For me, Francesca is the silent cry of thousands of women who stay where they are even though it makes them unhappy. *Francisco Giménez*, a Venezuelan motivational speaker who, like Tolle, showed me a path to personal growth. Francisco is the creator of CRP, *Círculo de Realización Personal* (Circle of Personal Fulfillment), a method that gives you strategies for living with greater well-being, framed within a positive philosophy of life that empowers you and makes you aware that you are the co-creator of your life. Thank you, Francisco, for everything you have contributed to my life and well-being.  All these people are unforgettable, but today I will dedicate my words to someone who, because of our closeness, coexistence, and philosophy, has had a notable influence on my way of understanding both my inner and outer worlds, giving a clearer meaning to my life and to the way of being and existing in the world that I have been given to live in.  This person is *Alejandro Moreno*. Alejandro was a Jesuit priest, professor, psychologist, and doctor of philosophy. I met him through my husband, @irvinc, almost from the beginning of our relationship, as he attended a free lecture that Moreno gave at the teacher training college in the city where we live. Every week, Alejandro would come from Caracas, where he lived, to Maracay. From his lecture, he formed a study group that would meet every Friday after class at one of his students' homes. One day, my husband invited me, and I stayed there for almost twenty years. As a study group, the first few years were devoted to deepening our understanding of philosophical thought. At the same time, Alejandro's project took shape: to study the popular world of Venezuela from its matrix and with the formal creation of the CIP, the *Center for Popular Research*. The research methodology was qualitative, an approach that in those years, the 1990s, was not widely accepted in our universities, all of which were governed by quantitative methodology. For our research, we started with life stories and followed the hermeneutic (interpretive) method within the context. At that time, I was studying for my postgraduate degree and wrote my thesis using this methodology, which was not entirely easy to get accepted at the pedagogical university. However, beyond the academic aspect, but within the same process, step by step I found explanations for how we Venezuelans are, for example, why it is so difficult for us to form and maintain relationships, how we weave the world of relationships, and how the concept of matricentrality encompasses every area of the social structure.  I met Alejandro the priest with a frank, broad, and open vision of inclusion and respect. I met Alejandro the psychologist, capable of guiding you and leading you to self-confrontation. I met Alejandro the philosopher, a scholar who, faced with each reality, dismantled it until he reached its epicenter, much like the metaphor of the onion, peeling away each layer. And I met Alejandro the friend, who brought us together with affection and allowed us to go from a study group to a group of friends that has stood the test of time. Thank you, Alejandro, for everything you have contributed to my life. Es la interrogante que esta semana nos dejan los amigos de @silverbloggers, al leerla inmediatamente mi memoria activó su búsqueda y varios personajes tanto reales como ficticios fueron definiéndose, seleccionar uno, no fue tan difícil pues cada uno de los que llegó a mi mente fueron, desde distintos ángulos, significativos y ha dejado su huella, entre ellos, están: *Eckhart Tolle*, con su libro *El poder del ahora*, siempre recordaré que este libro me abrió a un mundo de comprensión de la vida, a darle el valor supremo que tiene el presente, ese momento único y valiosos que es el ahora. *Francesca*, personaje interpretado por la magistral Meryl Streep, en la película,* Los puentes de Madison.* Francesca un personaje que me conmovió en extremo, por su soledad, su proceso de toma de decisión y por la decisión que finalmente toma en función de los demás y no en lo que ella quiere para su vida. Para mi Francesca es el grito ahogado de miles de mujeres que se quedan donde están aunque eso las haga infelices. *Francisco Giménez*, motivador venezolano, que al igual que Tolle, me mostró un camino de crecimiento personal. Francisco creador de CRP, *Círculo de Realización Personal*, un método que te da estrategias para vivir en mayor bienestar, enmarcado en una filosofía de vida positiva que empodera y te hace ser consciente de que eres co-creador de tu vida. Gracias Francisco por todo lo que aportaste para mi vida y bienestar.  Todos estos personajes son inolvidables, sin embargo, hoy dedicare mis palabras a un personaje que por nuestra cercanía, convivencia y filosofía influyó notablemente en mi modo de comprender mi mundo tanto interior con exterior dándole un sentido más claro a mi vida y a la manera de ser y estar en el mundo que me ha correspondido vivir.  Se trata de *Alejandro Moreno*. Alejandro era sacerdote jesuita, profesor, psicólogo y doctor en filosofía. Lo conocí a través de mi esposo, @irvinc, casi desde el inicio de nuestra relación, pues el asistía a una cátedra libre que Moreno dictaba en el pedagógico de la ciudad donde vivimos. Alejandro, cada semana, venía de Caracas, donde vivía, a Maracay, desde su cátedra fue formando un grupo de estudio que cada viernes, después de clase, seguían su reunión en alguna de las casas de sus alumnos, un buen día mi esposo me invitó y allí me quedé por casi veinte años. Como grupo de estudio los primeros años estuvieron dedicados a profundizar en la pensamiento filosófico, paralelo a ello se le fue dando cuerpo al proyecto de Alejandro, estudiar el mundo popular venezolano desde su matricentralidad y con la creación formal del CIP, *Centro de Investigaciones Populares*. La metodología de investigación era cualitativa, una modalidad que en esos años, década de los `90 era poco aceptada en nuestras universidades, todas regidas por la metodología cuantitativa. Para la investigación partíamos de las historias de vida y seguíamos el método hermenéutico (interpretación) dentro del contexto. Por esos tiempos yo andaba estudiando el postgrado y realice mi tesis con esta metodología que no fue del todo fácil para que me la aceptaran en el pedagógico. Ahora bien, más allá de lo académico, pero dentro del mismo proceso, paso a paso iba encontrando explicaciones de cómo somos los venezolanos, por ejemplo, por qué se nos dificulta tanto formar y mantener parejas, cómo tejemos el mundo de relaciones y cómo el concepto de matricentralidad abarca cada ámbito de la estructura social.  Conocí al Alejandro sacerdote con una visión franca, amplia y abierta de inclusión y respeto, conocí al Alejandro psicólogo capaz de orientar y llevarte a la auto-confrontación, al Alejandro filosofo, estudioso que ante cada realidad la desmontaba hasta llegar a su epicentro muy al estilo de la metáfora de la cebolla, desglosando cada capa y conocí al Alejandro amigo, aquel que nos reunía con afecto y que nos permitió pasar de un grupo de estudio a un grupo de amigos que se mantiene en el tiempo. Gracias Alejandro por todo lo aportado a mi vida.
