Project Details
GDevelop is an open source game creation software, which allows one to create games for the web. It is so easy to use that even those who do not have any programming or coding skills will be able to use the platform, but still powerful enough to delight the most advanced game creators.
This is my 4th contribution for the localization of this project, and I have learned a lot from perusing GDevelop's website and wiki page. The aim, to make creating a game simple and easy, is very apparent on how the tutorials are laid out. The manual is thick with expounded explanations and the instructions are always clear and concise, with visual aides to boot. I admire this masterpiece by Florian Rival which aims to empower everyone to create envisioned games. It's the reason why I try my best to provide accurate translations, which is no easy task. There are a lot of tricky words and I end up going through their massive manual in order to make sure I supply the correct Filipino term. There are also technical words that should be left untranslated like the ones below.
- object
- event
- parameter
- audio -pixel
- behavior
While you will see in the screenshot below, samples of translated strings I worked on.
Crowdin Translation Report
With 25,000 words, this localization project is not that huge. Since there are 5 Filipino translators, the project was divided by 5 and I was given the task to translate roughly 5000 words. This post is my 4th and final contribution to GDevelop.

Once again, a note of thanks to @utopian-io and @davinci.witness - for considering my application to be part of the Filipino Translation Team, to the Filipino Language moderator @ruah - for the continuous guidance and patience - and of course, to my fellow translators, @toffer, @marou27, @timliwanag, @josephace135, who are all working together to ensure our translations come out seamless.
