I have always been a loyal fan of the MOBA genre and my favorite game par excellence of this genre is Dota, I have a long journey in this game and I know everything that implies for the genre since its birth, for those who do not know the genre was born from there, a map created from the roots of Warcraft III and with it the MOBA genre appeared for the first time.
Siempre he sido un fiel admirador del genero MOBA y mi juego preferido por excelencia de este genero es el Dota, tengo un largo recorrido en este juego y sé todo lo que implica para el genero desde su nacimiento, para el quien no lo sabe el genero nace de ahí, un mapa creado desde las raíces del Warcraft III y con el hacia su aparición el genero MOBA por primera vez.
On many occasions I was in disputes on this topic of the MOBA genre, there have always been those unfriendly conversations about which is the quintessential game of the genre. Normally such conversations always ended in bad terms with many bad words in the air (You already know what I mean xD). Giving my humble opinion on this I must say that currently, as much as it pains me, the game that keeps the genre at a high level is League of Legends. The work done by Riot Games is to be admired and it is incredible how despite all the years that have passed they still maintain that iconic and typical essence on its gameplay and game map, I think this has made the game to become stronger and stronger in the genre being the lord and master of it.
En muchas ocasiones estuve en disputas sobre este tema del genero MOBA, siempre se han vistos esas conversaciones poco amigables sobre cual es el juego por excelencia del genero. Normalmente este tipo de conversaciones terminaban siempre en malos términos con muchas malas palabras en el aire (Ustedes ya saben a que me refiero xD). Dando mi humilde opinión sobre esto debo decir que actualmente por mucho que me duela, el juego que mantiene en un tope alto al genero es el League of Legends. El trabajo que lleva acabo Riot Games es de admirar y es increíble como a pesar de todos los años que han pasado siguen manteniendo esa esencia icónica y típica sobre su jugabilidad y mapa de juego, creo que esto ha hecho que el juego cada vez se haga más fuerte en el genero siendo así el amo y señor del mismo.
On the other side of the coin we have my beloved Dota 2 and I say it this way because of everything it represents for me since memorable times when there were only a few heroes to choose from and with that iconic map that I came to feel it as a second home.
In my time as an active player when Garena still kept its servers active to play Dota 1 and Warcraft III RPG maps, by that time I can say that everything was quite divided and that although Dota 1 graphically was not a competitor for League of Legends, even so by that time Dota was still at the top and this gap would become even bigger with the entry of Valve to the genre scene with the creation of Dota 2.
Por la otra cara de la moneda tenemos a mi amado Dota 2 y lo digo de esta manera por todo lo que representa para mi desde tiempos memorables cuando solo eran unos cuantos héroes para escoger y con ese mapa icónico que llegue a sentirlo con un segundo hogar.En mis tiempos como jugador activo cuando Garena aun mantenía sus servidores activos para jugar Dota 1 y Mapas RPG de Warcraft III, para ese momento puedo decir que todo era bastante divido y que a pesar que el Dota 1 gráficamente no era competidor para el League of Legends, aun así para ese momento el Dota se mantenía en la cima y esta brecha se haría aun mayor con la entrada de Valve a la escena del genero con la creación del Dota 2.
When Valve made its appearance with Dota 2 this was a plus for the game in general. I remember that moment when I started to see the news and all the commotion that it was causing, at least for me at that time I was very excited to know that Dota was going to level up in every way and that we would have a better gaming experience.
I also remember those “Keys” of income to be able to have the game, I managed to win one in a contest and I could be one of those first players to have the game in Beta mode, that download page of my Steam account with the name of Dota 2 is pure nostalgia.
When everything seemed rosy valve would start to implement mechanics not very well seen by the community in general. All this was more noticeable when they began to expand the map, create characters that had nothing to do with the world of Warcraft and the incorporation of new items with very limited explanations of use.
Cuando Valve hace su aparición con el Dota 2 esto fue un Plus para el juego en general. Recuerdo ese momento cuando empecé a ver las noticias y todo el revuelo que estaba causando, por lo menos a mi en aquel momento me daba mucha ilusión el saber que el Dota iba a subir de nivel en todos los sentidos y que tendríamos una mejor experiencia de juego.Recuerdo también aquellas "Llaves" de ingreso para poder tener el juego, logre ganarme una en un concurso y pude ser uno de aquellos primeros jugadores en tener el juego en modo Beta, aquella pagina de descarga de mi cuenta Steam con el nombre de Dota 2 es nostalgia pura.Cuando todo parecía color de rosas valve empezaría a implementar mecánicas no muy bien vistas por la comunidad en general. Todo esto se noto más cuando empezaron a expandir el mapa, crear personajes que nada tenían que ver con el mundo de Warcraft y la incorporación de nuevos items con explicaciones de uso muy limitadas.
As time went by they started to settle down somehow, they listened more to the community and somehow everything started to improve, but all this came too late for that moment, Dota 2 was no longer as well seen as in the beginning and you could see how the good work of Riot Games in League of Legends took advantage of those moments very well to make their community grow a lot more hooking all those new players in the genre. The most incredible thing is that League of Legends always kept and still keeps its essence, it is true that they have implemented some improvements in the gameplay in general, but the base game remains the same and it was here where Riot Games ended up going over Valve's head.
And this is how League of Legends is the new King of the MOBA genre today 😁
Con el pasar del tiempo empezaron a sentar cabeza de algún modo, escucharon más a la comunidad y de alguna manera todo empezó a mejorar, pero todo esto llego muy tarde para ese momento, el Dota 2 ya no era tan bien visto como en un principio y se podía ver como el buen trabajo de Riot Games en el League of Legends aprovecho muy bien esos momentos para hacer que su comunidad creciera muchísimo más enganchando a todos aquellos nuevos jugadores en el genero. Lo más increíble es que el League of Legends siempre mantuvo y sigue manteniendo su esencia, es verdad que han implementado una que otras mejoras en la jugabilidad en general, pero el juego base sigue siendo el mismo y fue aquí donde Riot Games le termino pasando por encima a Valve.Y es así como League of Legends es el flamante Rey del genero MOBA en la actualidad 😁
