First of all, it's been a while since I last posted. New job, lots of crazy stuff in life, but let's get going again.
Sometimes you come across really interesting wildlife when you aren't expecting it. These are Brandt's Cormorants nesting on the cliffs at La Jolla Cove in California.
We were meeting up with my wife's family to see the Sea Lions, but I couldn't help focusing on these little dinosaur-like birds. The chick's are especially ...ugly? I'm not sure there's any other way to put it. That said, they are super animated and demanding offspring, keeping those parents busy. The adults are still showing a few signs from the mating season, like the bold blue eyes, and blue necks.
Thankfully, I had the @sonyalpha A1II, and 50-150 GM on hand to make these images.
