I live in Oregon, Portland more specifically. That means I'm pretty close to the Oregon coast, but I also am just a stone's throw from the Columbia River Gorge. For me those two locations share a common theme. Stone and Water.
While Haystack rock is super iconic in Oregon Travel magazines, it never ceases to capture my attention. This was from a family trip to the coast in later summer a few years ago. I've gone back to this location so many times, but this day the combination of mist in the air, the bright summer sun and the low tide combined to create an iconic scene that's become one of the staples of my portfolio.
This is a sunrise view from the rocky foundations of Crown Point, the location of Vista House in the Columbia River Gorge. I've visited many times, but this particular summer morning was incredibly early with my friend Cody Keto. Coincidentally, he and I went out shooting waterfalls yesterday morning.
This is one of my favorite locations, and one which also happens to be a little bit of a secret. It's a hidden beach on the Northern coast which is only accessible at low tide. Need to get back out there again soon.
This scene is from the massive collection of seastacks in Bandon at Face Rock park. I love the way there's always something moving, whether waves, birds or the sun, it's a constantly changing scene. I have so many more images from Bandon!
