Yesterday was one of those days I wasn't too sure of how much time I will have to focus on other things. So what was actually my focus for yesterday? Yesterday was Sunday and for the Next part of it, the first for the month. It can be very engaging for me because of some duties to meet up. Being part of the Christian faith comes with responsibilities. I am not talking about the one forced upon you but rather self sacrificial.
Doing something and not expecting rewards from men yet you are very sure you won't go unrewarded can sound awkward to others. Yet this is the faith I hold on to, God is my rewarder.
Anything outside this can be attributed to eye service. Trust me, I wouldn't advise you as a Christian to fall into this category, it's like running a race that has no finish line. It is difficult for many to accept this anyway. It is all about the position of our hearts. Let's leave it there.
Being a legend can be legendary and in the Christian settings, legendary stories are one we hold dear to the heart. For instance, our Lord Jesus Christ died once and for all so that all human race can be saved. Can that be easy, guiltless yet choosing to bear the sins of others? Indeed this is not an easy task and I pray not to take this for granted.

Ever since, the fight to spread Christianity has come in needed badges. Martyrdom has been one of such famous stories. Apostle James was beheaded, Peter was crucified on an upside down cross and he did not struggle with them. In short he said, his crucifiers to do him a favor of not allowing him to hang on the same cross strategy of his Lord Jesus Christ so they had to turn him upside down.
How does it sound to you? It is not all the time we jump in to write about green candles and hottest investment opportunities. Everything ‘in time’ is vanity; I talked about such an experience the day before yesterday about how Warren Buffett is retiring. These are some of the men many would wish were immortals to keep wielding the market to their favor but as time may summarize it, humans expire.
What prompted this article? All saints day reminder that was told to us Yesterday by the preacher on the podium. Ok, today is not all saints day as it is the 3rd day of the month. Neither was it yesterday, which was the 2nd of the month. I thought I was even going to be able to put out this article yesterday but during the compilation process I slept off. I wasn't an easy day anyway; more like working straight in the office but this time around it was the office of God.
Anyway I was able to get close to summarising and posting this article when I work up to realize I had dozed off. Actually, I could still because I felt there was other things to add up. This article in particular is beyond just putting up an article, it is a message worth posted day after day; men have suffered to present us with what we are eating on a platter.
Getting back to All saints day, it is celebrated on the 1st of every month while yesterday 2nd is called all souls days. It still seems somewhat related. The latter is about showing regards for loved ones who died while the former is the reminder of the heroic stages men took just to make sure this truth is preached everywhere.

There are many big stories to look at. Men like Martin Luther, a Catholic priest who defended the truth till the day of his dying. This man believed nothing could cage the truth and for sure this has proven a reality. His historic legendary moves to kick against ‘sect Christianity’ should not be taken for granted. This in the process sparked the need of new breeds who had access to truth rather than doctrine taught by men mostly for self interest.
And though they take our life, goods, honour, children, wife, Yet is their profit small; These things shall vanish all: The city of God remaineth.
Fourth stanza of ‘A safe stronghold' hymn from Martin Luther
We heard of men like Polycarp; the Bishop of Smyrna who chose to be set ablaze rather than worshipping the Roman gods. With so many persuasive attempts to lure him away from faith during trial his reply was this; ‘for eighty and six years of serving Christ, he has done nothing wrong to me’. Wow! This was a man that was later stabbed to death when the fire set to consume him could not do the needed damage.
To conclude, let me add, many of us need to understand the fold we have come into when claiming to be a Christian. Men have gone through a lot to bring us this truth. It was one of those things I once discussed with someone who had all he needed but not a bible. There was neither a hard or soft copy and his phone is just there filled with other Apps.
How we care little to understand that many staked lives, comfort loved ones and properties just to make sure copies of this Holy script reaches the remotest part of the world. I hope Christian worldwide don't take this self sacrificial efforts by preceding heroes for granted.
