A broken bushing - Preventing an accident just in time [ENG/SPA]

I spent all day yesterday trying to fix what seemed like a simple but delicate problem. One of the bushings that cushions the steering gearbox was damaged, which caused the gearbox to move a lot whenever I turned the steering wheel. This is a huge risk because if both bushings break, you could completely lose control of the vehicle. >#### Cambio de Buje de cajetín roto - Prevención a tiempo de un accidente >Todo el dia de ayer la pase tratando de solucionar lo que parecía sencillo pero a la vez delicado, uno de los bujes que sirve de amortiguación para el cajetín de la dirección se daño, por lo tanto este se movía mucho al mover el volante. Esto representa un gran peligro, ya que si ambos se rompen, puedes perder por completo el control del vehículo.  A few days earlier, during a short family trip, everyone in the car felt something come loose. Scared, we pulled over, and I spent almost 20 minutes checking under the car, but I couldn't see anything at a glance. Since the car was still running fine, I figured I must have run over something on the road. >Días atrás en un pequeño viaje familiar todos en el carro sentimos como algo se desprendió, asustados nos estuvimos y estuve revisando por casi 20 minutos por debajo y a simple vista no logré ver nada, como el carro seguía funcionando bien, llegué a la conclusión que se trataba de algo que pise en la vía posiblemente.  Two days ago, as I was making a turn, the steering wheel gave an involuntary jerk, like a little tug. It was left with a slight play that didn't affect the car's ability to turn. With the help of my phone, I held it next to the steering wheel and recorded a video to see if it was the steering column. That's when I discovered, by looking further down, that the gear housing was moving—in other words, it wasn't fixed in place anymore. >Hace dos días mientras cruzaba el volante hizo una especie de movimiento involuntario, como un jalón, quedando con un pequeño movimiento que no afectaba el cruce del vehículo. Cómo pude con la ayuda del teléfono al lado de volante grabé a ver si se trataba de la caña de la dirección. Fue así como descubrí, mirando al fondo que el cajetín se movía, o dicho de otra manera, ya no estaba fijo.   When I checked, I noticed the bottom bushing was completely destroyed. This was what was making the gear housing shift from side to side whenever I moved the steering wheel. The top bushing was gone entirely, and when I looked closer at the rear where the bolt that goes through the bushing should have been threaded, it had broken off. I couldn't believe that the part made of iron had snapped and the ear of the gear housing hadn't, since in theory, the material is less strong than the car's chassis. >Al revisar note que el buje inferior estaba destruido, lo que hacía que de moviera el cajetín de lada a lados al mover el volante. El buje de arriba lo había perdido por completo, y cuando reviso de cerca la parte posterior donde el tornillo que atraviesa el buje debe enroscar, se había roto. No podía creer que era parte que es de hierro se rompiera y la oreja del cajetín donde va el buje no, ya que el material en teoría es menor fuerte que la carrocería.   Now I knew what had fallen off the car that day on our trip. I went out to look for the bushing; they only sell them in pairs and they cost $20. I had to go to a lot of places to find a better deal until I finally found a pair for $15. For now, I was only able to install the bottom one. The top one will have to wait, because I need to drop the gear housing to weld something to the subframe where a new bolt can be threaded. For now, I have to drive very carefully so that it can hold up with just one bushing. >Ahora sabía que fue lo que se cayó del carro el día que viajabamos. Salía a buscar el buje, solo venden el par y costaba $20, tuve que ir a muchos sitios para conseguir una oferta hasta encontrarlo en 15 el par.
