A promotion ceremony and a lifelong memory [ENG/SPA]

Promotion ceremonies have become a regular thing at schools here, and it feels like it's become a business to have a graduation every single year at every level. It's not just for when kids move from one stage to another, like from elementary to middle school, high school, or college. Honestly, I'm not totally on board with it, but it doesn't really bother me. I only had three graduations myself, so maybe that's why I think doing it every year is a bit much. But for kids with special needs, I think it's a great idea. It shows them that their hard work, which isn't always the same as other kids', is seen and that they're being rewarded for it. >#### Un acto de promoción y un recuerdo para toda la vida >Se han vuelto una costumbre los actos de prosecución entre las instituciones educativas del pais, al parecer se ha vuelto un negocio todos los años hacer un acto de grado en todos los niveles y no solo cuando pasan de una etapa a otra, como de primaria al liceo, al ciclo diversificado o a la universidad. Honestamente no estoy tan de acuerdo pero no me molesta, yo solo tuve tres actos de grado y quizás por eso pienso que es excesivo hacerlo cada año, pero para niños con condición me parece acertado hacerles ver que sus esfuerzos, que no son siempre como los de otros niños, son tomados en cuenta y se les premia por eso.  On top of that, my little girl is growing up so fast. She's getting to an age where she might leave some of that silly, happy personality behind, so I'm really making the most of every moment like this. I love watching her progress and move forward. I'm putting my judgments aside and just focusing on making my girl happy, and she definitely was today. Reaching fifth grade was a big deal for her, especially since she had to overcome some challenges along the way. >A esto le sumo que mi pequeña ya esta creciendo mucho mis y se acerca una etapa de su vida que posiblemente deje atrás parte de esa personalidad jocosa y alegre que hasta ahora le ha caracterizado, por eso cada momento como este lo aprovecho al maximo y disfruto mucho verla progresar y avanzar, dejo lo prejuicios a un lado y me concentro en hacer a mi niña feliz y definitivamente hoy lo estaba, saber que alcanzó el quinto grado para ella ha sido motivo de alegría, porque atravesó algunos desafíos.   The ceremony was simple but nice. The teachers did a great job setting up a protocol: each student was called up to the stage to get a medal and a promotion certificate from their teacher. Afterward, they had a photo session with their families, and they even gave us printed photos. I really appreciate that because it's a practice we hardly do anymore, and it helps us build a physical photo album. After all the formalities, they played several songs that celebrate achievements, like "La Gran Fiesta" by Olga Tañón, "Celebra La Vida" by Axel, and, of course, "Color Esperanza" by Diego Torres. The kids and parents all ended up getting out of our seats and dancing to the songs. I guess the joy of the moment was all the encouragement we needed. >El acto fue sencillo pero bonito, las maestras se esforzaron por establecer un protocolo, llamando al estrado a cada alumno a recibir de su maestra una medalla y un certificado de promoción de grado. Luego al bajar del estrado una sesión de fotos junto a la familia, las cuales nos entregan impresas, lo cual agradezco porque es una práctica que ya casi no hacemos, y así podemos construir un álbum de fotos físicas. Luego de todo este protocolo sonaron varias canciones que hacen alusión a logros como La gran fiesta de Olga Tañón, Celebra La Vida de Axel y no podía faltar Color Esperanza de Diego Torres. Niños y padres terminamos levantandonos de nuestros asiento y bailando las canciones, supongo que la alegría del momento fue el principal aliciente para hacerlo.  *** _{Photos taken by ©danielcarrerag copyright reserved.
