I was totally caught off guard by the announcement of the "new" game Plants vs. Zombies Replanted, which is set to drop on October 23rd of this year for Nintendo Switch 2, Steam, Epic Games, PC, PlayStation®, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch. Electronic Arts, the company behind it, hadn't released a game in the franchise since 2019's Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville, a third-person shooter that didn't do very well.

I'm personally super excited for this game because I've been a fan forever; I’ve been playing Plants vs. Zombies 2 on my phone for eight years. It's a mix of a remaster and a remake. It’s a remaster because it’s essentially the first game that came out 16 years ago, but it’s been rebuilt to run in 4K on all the new-gen platforms. It’s also kind of a remake because it will have new modes like co-op and PvP.

Se trata de un remaster pero también de remake, remaster porque se trata esencialmente del primer juego que salio hace 16 años, pero para ser corrido en 4k en todas las plataformas de nueva generación. También será una especie de remake porque contará con nuevos modos como el de cooperativo el PvPs.
While the game looks pretty much the same on the surface, it has some new features that have my attention. The first is the ability for two people to play at the same time, either to compete or play local co-op, which isn't very common these days. The PvP will be really interesting because one player can be the plants and the other can be the zombies. That's something brand new that I definitely need to try. It will also have classic game modes like Wall-Nut Bowling, but now a little more tactical, along with new modes like Hardcore, Rest in Peace, and Cloudy Day.
>El juego a pesar de ser en apariencia el mismo, cuenta con algunas novedades que llaman mi atención, la primera es la posibilidad de jugar dos personas al mismo tiempo para competir, o jugar en cooperativo local, algo que hoy día no es tan usual. El PvP será bien interesante porque un jugador podrá ser las plantas y el otro los zombies, esto es algo inédito que definitivamente tengo que probar. También contará con clásicos modos de juego como Wall-Nut Bowling pero ahora un poco más táctico, junto a nuevos modos como hardcore, Rest In Peace y Cloudy Day.
The game is already available for pre-order, and if you do, you get a retro skin. But this has a lot of fans worried and has caused some mixed opinions. It's a clear sign that the game will be full of microtransactions, just like Plants vs. Zombies 2. I personally want to play it because it looks awesome, and I really want to try the co-op and PvP modes. But it's also clear that this is a move to play on our nostalgia and get more money out of us with those micro-payments.

Personalmente quiero jugarlo porque se ve increíble, y además quiero jugar el modo cooperativo y el PvP, pero también es claro que es una apuesta para jugar con la nostalgia de la comunidad y sacarles más dinero con los micropagos.
