Simple unexpected fix - It was the battery not the ECU [ENG/SPA]

Hey everyone, I'm back with an update on the issue I posted about 14 days ago. After a battery swap went wrong, all signs pointed to a damaged ECU. I figured this because the diagnostic scan kept throwing a P1651 code, "DTC Cannot Be Verified," and all the other codes were old or pending. Basically, I couldn't get a current diagnostic because of a communication failure. >#### Solución inesperada y simple - Era la bateria no la ECU >Saludos comunidad, vengo a compartirles la actualización de mi caso que publique hace 14 días. Tras el accidente que ocurrió con el cambio de batería, todo apuntaba a que el ECU sufrió daños y debía ser reemplazado o reparado de ser posible, llegue a esta conclusión ya que luego de escanear el diagnóstico arrojaba el codigo P1651 **"DTC no puede ser verificado"**, y los demas codigos presentados son viejos o pendientes, es decir, no tenia un diagnóstico del momento por el fallo de comunicación.  I wasn't ready to accept that "diagnosis," so I reached out to some friends who are Chery experts and used to work in dealerships. I told them all the symptoms and, after a lot of troubleshooting, we decided to try a new battery. A good friend of mine had a forklift at his job, so he charged up the old one there, and it came back to life. But when we put the recharged battery in, the car still wouldn't start. It only fired up after we poured a little gas directly into the intake manifold. >No resignado con este "diagnóstico" con la ayuda de amigos expertos en la marca Chery que trabajaron en talleres, les fue fui consultado a distancia contándoles todos los síntomas del problema. Tras varias pruebas, concluimos en cambiar la batería, que gracias a un buen amigo, le dio carga y la tuvo en un montacargas donde trabaja para que esta volviera a la vida. Cuando pusimos la bateria igualmente no encendia, pero tras colocarle un poco de gasolina directamente en el multiple de admision encendio el carro.   The headache wasn't over, though. Even with the car running, it would die as soon as I let off the gas—it couldn't hold an idle. I drove it like that for days; it was a nightmare. I was constantly praying I wouldn't hit any traffic because I had to juggle the clutch, shift to neutral, and hit the gas just to keep it from stalling. I kept talking to the experts, and they suggested I try a different battery altogether. >El dolor de cabeza no acabó ahí, aunque el carro encendió, apenas soltaba el acelerador el carro se apagaba, no aguantaba mínimo. Así lo estuve utilizando durante varios días, era una pesadilla y rogaba no encontrarme una cola de vehículos porque tenía que maniobrar mucho entre el embrague, colocar en neutro la caja de cambios y acelerar para que no se apagara. Segui hablando del problema con los expertos y me sugirieron cambiar la batería por otra.  So I did. The minute I swapped in the battery from that other car I have sitting at home, the car started right up and stayed on. I was so sure the ECU was fried, so it was a huge surprise. I'd been measuring the voltage, and the battery was always above 12V, but I guess under a load, the voltage dropped too much. The TPS wasn't getting the right reading on the throttle body position, and since it's electronic, it was running terribly. Thankfully, it didn't turn into a bigger deal, and a simple battery swap fixed it. >Efectivamente así lo hice, apenas coloque la batería del otro carro que les he contado que está parado en casa, el carro prendio y se mantuvo sin apagarse, yo seguía pensando que era la ECU que se habia dañado pero vaya sorpresa no fue así. Cuando media el voltaje de la batería estaba por encima de los 12V como debe ser, pero quizás al conectar la carga caía mucho la corriente y el TPS no registraba bien la posición de la mariposa de aceleración, y como esta es eléctrica, funcionaba deficiente, pero gracias a Dios no pasó a mayores y pude solucionar con el simple cambio de batería. *** _{Photos taken by ©danielcarrerag copyright reserved.
