At last... The cover-up. 🫡

I have been really distant from this, with all that is happening in my life, i simply don't have time or the will to write. I tried coming back, but honestly apathy was stronger than me. Today I'm back, briefly, because I thought I'd share with this community the process of covering a tattoo I had.

When i started tattooing, it was natural to practice on myself. I knew I would have to cover some of them eventually. For me this type of decision are not that big of a deal, so I never gave too much thought.

He estado súper alejada de esto, entre tantas cosas sucediendo en mi vida, sencillamente no tenía tiempo ni ganas de escribir. Intenté volver, pero la verdad la apatía me ganó nuevamente. Hoy vuelvo, momentáneamente, pues pensé en compartir con ésta comunidad el proceso de hacerme un cover-up a mi misma.

Cuando empecé a tatuar, fue natural practicar en mi misma. Sabía bien que tarde o temprano iba a tener que cubrir uno que otro. Para mí este tipo de decisiones no son tan descabelladas de tomar, así que no lo pensé mucho.

It's not like I completely hated the tattoo itself, but one day it just came to me the idea of getting that covered. So one rainy day I started sketching something that could do the trick. Once satisfied I just made the stencil, placed it and waited for it to dry while I prepared everything else.

The design is pretty much "less is more", ans the previous tattoo was essentially a solid black blob, so why should I complicate things further. It was logic to me that i would use Dynamic's triple black and to cover as much as I could.

Si bien no me molestaba este tatuaje, de la noche a la mañana empecé a tener la idea fija de finalmente cubrirlo. Así que una tarde lluviosa y sin nada que hacer, empecé a bocetear algo que sirviera para este propósito. Una vez satisfecha, casi en automático hice el stencil, lo coloqué y esperé que secara mientras preparaba mi área de trabajo.

Este diseño parte de que menos es más, y el previo tatuaje era en escencia una mancha negra sólida, así que no iba a complicarme la vida. Era lógico que usaría triple black de dynamic y cubrir lo más que pudiera.

I started by outlining everything with a 5RL, and did the dotting areas with the same needle. Then I filled everything with a Magnum 7.

I really thought it would take more time, keeping in mind how uncomfortable I was. But within one hour and a half I was done, pretty much because ny lower back was in excruciating pain. If anything I can give myself a touch-up later on. But for now I am okay with it.

Lo primero fue elaborar las líneas con una 5RL, además las zonas en las que quería utilizar puntillismo de arrastre también las hice con esta misma aguja. Luego los rellenos los hice con una Magnum 7.

Sinceramente pensé que me llevaría más tiempo, teniendo en cuenta la incomodidad de la posición. Pero al cabo de una hora y media di por finalizada mi labor pues el dolor de espalda ya estaba en su punto máximo. De necesitar alguna cosa, lo retomaré más adelante. Pero de momento estoy satisfecha.

I covered it with a patch and now it was time to wait until its healed... One day later I went out with friends to distract myself from the chaos of my own existence and I got to take a pic of the inkbag.

Coloque un parche dérmico y ahora es cosa de esperar que sane... Y un día después sali a pistear con amigos para distraerme del caos de mi existencia y capturé esta foto de mi inkbag.
