Description from Strava: As per my previous post, I'm slowly building the mileage back up in preparation for my race in 4 weeks time (Lincoln Half-marathon on 5th oct). With plenty of issues with injury niggles, I'm taking my time and trying not to overdo it.

This week just gone, I've been back to walking into town 4 days a week, and running back home 4 days as well (there is a rest day on wednesday where I used the bus instead). On the 4 days I run home, I make sure to exercise and stretch... and so far, so good. :-)

Its now the weekend, and a chance to go for a longer run as during the week I do a max of 6.5km for each run. Last weekend I managed 9km for a 'long' run, and today I stepped that up to 12km. It was a loop down around Brant Road, and then heading back up through Waddington. Its my only run of the week without carrying a backpack, so I felt quite light and mobile for once! On the whole, I felt pretty good, and at the end of the run my right hip/groin area only felt a little sore. I'm putting that down to it being the furthest I've run in at least 12 weeks. I did do more stretching after I arrived home, and there will be an easy rest day tomorrow, so it should be ok.

Feeling positive about being able to get on the start line at least, even if I can no longer race it how I had originally planned

For the rest of the day, I have some weeding to do in the garden, and then I'll be getting ready to Moth Trap later tonight, so you can look out for a post regarding that at some point tomorrow

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)
