Description from Strava:

Today was the first time I had to leave the house for work under the cover of darkness, albeit temporarily. I could act surprised, but to be fair it IS October tomorrow, and the darker early mornings and evenings are upon us. It did mean I was able to witness the above stunning sunrise while walking into work this morning!

walk into work (approx 4 miles)

While walking into work I came across yet more roadworks, they seem to be everywhere here at the moment. This section appears to be the next stage in the process of replacing over 3km of gas pipework. they just seem to be digging squares along the road instead of digging the whole lot up, and here they've managed to dig a whole right in the middle of a junction...

...the process of doing so has closed of Canwick avenue completely, effectively splitting the village in half. I know I shouldn't grumble, but it causes so much hassle for everyone.

After a grumble and moan to myself (no one else was about at 6.30 am of course), I carried on the walk into work. My work day was pretty boring and forgettable... and before I knew it it was time to get changed and run back home

run home from work (approx 4 miles)

After running 3 days in a row (10 miles on sunday, 4 miles yesterday and 4 miles today), my legs feel a little tired, so fortunately it is a scheduled rest day tomorrow. I will still walk into town tomorrow afternoon as I need to check the local outdoor/hiking shop. I've planned an adventure in Novemeber, and have realsied that in order to carry all my stuff for the trip in one backpack... that I will need a much bigger bag!

I'll see if I can find a suitable one in town tomorrow (otherwise I'll need to head to the out of town shopping centre, and thats gonna have to be a weekend job. For now though, its time to crack on with the next stage of my accountancy course

the exam is already booked for the middle of November, so I'd better get a move on with it!

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)
