The Hinatuan Enchanted River, also known as the Hinatuan Sacred River, is a deep spring river located in Barangay Talisay, Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, on the island of Mindanao in the Philippines. This enchanted river has become one of the Philippines' most famous tourist sites. It flows into the Pacific Ocean and the Philippine Sea.
Because of the engkantos that live there, the river is known as the Enchanted River, according to locals. The river is also said to be haunted by supernatural beings who serve as its protectors, according to the legends.
The area of the river that everyone comes to photograph is a deep, dark hole that extends 80 feet down.
Several professional divers have sought to investigate the river's underwater compartments. And many foreigners have attempted to reach the bottom, but no one has ever succeeded. Even though it is about 80 feet deep, the flow attracts visitors from all over the world who want to see the magnificent waters that locals have long regarded miraculous.
The sparkling, crystal pure blue waters of this mythical enchanted river make it a wonderful water, that is a brilliant blue color and extremely pure.
The tranquil and peaceful surface of the river, mixed with the incredible transparency of the bright blue sea, gives this spot an unreal magical character. As a result, it has become one of the province's most popular tourist sites. Aside from its beauty, the Hinatuan Enchanted River is home to legends of mermaids, mystical fairies, and spirits.
So, this is how it looks like before 12noon.

Another somewhat mysterious aspect of the Enchanted river is the fish. The fish are a popular attraction, particularly during the daily feeding sessions. The Enchanted river has the most magical moment when the caretaker rings the bell at exactly 12 p.m., requesting that everyone exit the water since it is "feeding time."
Yes, no one should be left behind because the fish may become agitated at feeding time.
Right after the feeding time, you can go back to swim and enjoy the rest of the day! Life vests are required for swimming by the way once you are in the water. However you can not bring foods and drinks to the river to maintain its cleanliness.
