I recently had the chance to attend a special event at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, so I made the most of it and spent a couple of days exploring both Greenwich and London. I have to say, I had an amazing time—even if doing all the touristy things did end up being a little on the pricey side!
These shots were taken the day I got there, I will be posting more through the week especially the one as to why I am in Greenwich, so please keep a look out for that one.
Greenwich has always been on my list to visit, and it certainly didn’t disappoint. The stunning architecture alone makes it worth the trip. You might even recognize it from the final battle scene in Thor: The Dark World, which was filmed right here.
The above shot is of the National Maritime Museum and Canary Wharf, I love the look of the old and new buildings, the light on the sky scrapers was magnificent. I shot this on my iphone 14, I shot 3 seperate shots in Raw, then merged them in lightroom, it gave me so much more flexibility doing it this way than using the phones built in panorama mode.
The views are stunning from the Royal Observatory.
I was wonderful walking around, and it wasn't too busy, thankfully as I'm not one for crowds.
I really do love it here, the next time I visit I'm hoping to have a small mirrorless camera so I can get even better shots, all shots in thie post were done using an iPhone 14 Pro. I'm still pretty impressed with the quality of the shots, even though they were done with just a phone.
The world famous cutty sark.
I really like the light on this shot, the domed building leads down to a tunnel under the river Thames, again, another idea for a shot the next time I'm in Greenwhich.
And finally looking back over Royal Greenwich Park with the Queens house in the foreground and Flamsteed House that was designed by Sir Christopher Wren who was also the architect of St Pauls Cathedral.
I hope you've enjoyed this post, and if you've made it this far, thanks for reading :-)
