As I type this blog, I am suffering from a chest infection and have been issued antibiotics to help myself, it will be nice to be able to breath correctly when it finally clears. It's hard to think that only a week ago I was doing the tourist thing in London. This time, we went to the Tower Of London, what a fantastic but busy place this is, it's full of history of the royals, with exception architecture and stories from the past, I always find it strange to visit somewhere that you learned about in school, I'm in my 50's now and it's the first time I've ever been to the tower.
If you think it looks empty, when seeing the above shot, it wasn't lol, I tested out the "remove people" option in lightroom and I'm pretty impressed with it, the images sometimes do need a little touch up, but it looks great, but I did find it doesn't work on all imaged.
I love this shot, with the centuries old buildings and the shard poking up over the wall, the shard is also much bigger than it looks on the photographs as I was using the wide angle lens on the iphone.
I'd really love to walk around here as it's getting dark, with the street lights on and lights on the buildings, I bet it looks beautiful, most of all, no people there either, I wonder if it is possible to do this?
As we walked up the road, there was one of the world famous ravens that was sat on a cannon, they make the most beautiful sounds, I expected it to sound like a crow, but far from it, I've never heard a sound like it, but I wish I'd recorded it so I could have played it back. I'm not sure if it was doing an impression of a phone or something, but it was the softest sound, almost sounded computerized.
See video below, this is the sound that the raven was making when I was there, it reminds me of a robot from a disney film, thanks to the person that posted it.

This part is where the Beefeaters live, they have some beautiful houses, I bet they can't wait for the peace of night once all the tourists have gone home.
There's also squirrels that live there, this one was running around the crowds looking for treats.
This beefeater was telling stories of the tower, it was very interesting, and if memory serves me right, I think he's stood where Anne Boleyn was executed, please leave me a comment if I am wrong.
There are models of animals everywhere, this is because the tower of London was once used a zoo way back when.
I loved the chapel, especially the music they were playing in it, it was really atmospheric.
if you'd like to see a video of our visit, the please have a look here:
Here's a few more of my favourite shots from the day:
I'd just like to thank you for reading this far, I really hope that you have enjoyed this post, all shots taken using an iPhone 14 Pro.
I'm gonna get to be now as I feel terrible with my chest infection.
All the best :-)
