We would like to express our deepest gratitude towards Power Up Privacy for their generous donation of 488 XMR (Monero), valued at roughly $166,000 at time of receipt, to fund the development of Dash's upcoming privacy roadmap.

Dash's Privacy Roadmap

Dash's first flagship feature was an integrated CoinJoin function to help users keep their financial activity confidential.

Over the years, Dash has expanded to focus on a wide variety of elements necessary for digital cash: instant settlement, high security, scalability, governance, ease of use, and more. While we've quietly continued to improve our existing privacy features (and added new ones in the form of our username and contact list setup, which doubles as stealth addresses), we've spent most of our focus elsewhere.

Now is a good time to give our flagship feature the overhaul it deserves. Read below our plans to overhaul our confidential payments:

Due to constraints of balancing the growth of the world's premier digital cash ecosystem with development on our ambitious Evolution platform, we started this overhaul as a fully donation-funded side project.

With this generous donation from Power Up Privacy, we are able to prioritize this overhaul and continue accelerated work immediately.

Acknowledging Firo and Cypher Stack

We want to thank and acknowledge both Firo and Cypher Stack for their role in this.

Firo is a privacy-focused cryptocurrency that uses much of the same technology as Dash, including masternodes, InstantSend, and ChainLocks. Cypher Stack is a full-stack development and design shop responsible for the Stack Wallet, an open-source and multi-coin wallet that supports Dash.

Both Firo and Cypher Stack were instrumental in facilitating our partnership with Power Up Privacy, and we thank them for their invaluable contributions.

Moving Forward

This generous contribution will enable us to solidify Dash's core digital cash experience, drive forward advancements in confidentiality, and fund collaborative coding efforts that enhance our initiative as well as the entire landscape of privacy technologies.
