When all the people of a country know is under development, lies, deceit, selfishness and greed from its government, you can be sure that it will always bash her. She will hardly see the good when the government eventually does it. It's like weighing on a scale, where you have 200 kilograms on one end and 20 kilograms on the other. You can't see that as a serious comparison or weighing.
I wish to see it that way. So, when the people fail to see or recognise some of the good things the leaders do, you can't really blame them. Such good things are almost equal to nothing compared to the failures of the government. The people consider that they deserve better and so they view it in that way.
Nevertheless, we can't fail to give the government kudos for the good they do. I'm not one to stereotype leaders or a whole government even. Some state governments are doing a good job, at least for their people. Though these things that we see and appreciate them for doing are their responsibilities, but then, maybe we can still be appreciative that they did them. Funny though.
As per the prompt, I have to look away from the failure of my government and acknowledge the good they have done. Of course, the government of my country have done some commendable things which I will say in good spirit. Hopefully, we see more of these things because they are what the people need.
Commendable are the road projects I've seen this government embark upon, especially the ones at the state level. One of the states, in which I was schooled has been doing well in this regard. The state I reside in as well; partially, has done a good job concerning this, and in the local government where I particularly reside, an underpass road project was completed a few months back by the state government. Too bad I couldn't get the picture, but it's a beautiful thing.
It means a lot for me to commend them because that space which was constructed on used to be a roundabout, a kind of dangerous one that if you're not a good rider or driver or you aren't used to it, you could have an issue. The idea of an underpass there was a nice one, and more commendable because it was an executed project not the empty talk we are used to. We had thought this project would be likewise.
Road infrastructure is one of the major concerns of the people with the government. Good road infrastructure by the way. This is because I have seen roads built or fixed and within a year or less, it's back to the former state or it turns into a disfigured state in the case of a new one. So, it isn't just about roads but good roads. And this underpass road project proved to be a good one. Maybe for now. Other roads linking to the underpass were constructed as well.
