This is my 2001 Toyota Avalon XLS with about 343,000 miles on it at this time. So I always try to change the oil every 3 thousand miles.
When I was younger, I used to just change the oil myself, and in those days I saved a lot of money, but now that I am old, I am 66 years old as I write. I will actually be 67 years old sometime next month.
So now days I just pay people to change my oil, plus when I bring it in, they always check the other fluids and they put air in the tires. I like that also.
As I was waiting a woman came in and she told us she came in from out of town cause this place, Bob's Oil and Lube actually uses the Havoline oil with this woman insists on. So she comes from out of town to get this oil, when she does her oil change.
She told me she lives in Manteca. I told her I used to live in Manteca, and that I used to go to East Union, Class of 1977. She told me that the high school has gotten real big now days. I did drive past one year and I could hardly recognize it.
Well, that is 48 years since I went to school there.
I told the lady, when I was there we had all the shops and drivers training.
Now days, no shop classes and no drivers training classes.
I told her that I wrote the president, Trump to see if he can make a deal, and somehow get drivers training back in high school. I told Trump that there is this street in my city called, March Lane and there are accidents on it, it seems almost everyday.
And I hate to mention it, but my neighbor a young man, just got his drivers license and he wrecked his car on March Lane and it got totaled. You see we need drivers training back in high school.
I told the president that the people are just driving by the seats of their pants, some not even knowing what is legal and what is illegal, concerning driving, that is.
So before you know it, my car is done, oil change and all, and I had to pay to get out of there.
I said, Good bye to the woman at the register and the woman from Manteca, told me that she is going to remember me, I said, So you are going to remember that I am a former student of East Union High School and that I graduated in 1977? I said, by the way I am David, and she told me that she is Lupe.
I said, Nice talking to you Lupe.
And I left with some brand new oil in my engine.
