This was a few days ago. I woke up and I had what some call, Charley Horse, my right calf tightned up in pain, and I knew I had to try to stretch my foot the other way.
I hate that feeling, maybe cause I am getting old, I am 66 years old as I write. I do remember when I was young having that same pain, in a swimming pool and their was a girl nearby, I guess she knew what I was going through, while we were in the water, it was the shallow part, she took my right leg and started to pull the muscle as to stretch it.
Maybe she had that pain before and of course that felt good to have someone massaging a charley horse out of my muscles. She asked if I was doing better, I said, yes, then the pain came again, and she grabbed my leg again and started to pull my foot a certain way as to stretch the calf muscle. I thank her again and again.
Well, that was many decades ago.
Now here I am with that same pain, no young girl around to pull my foot the other way to stretch it, no I had to do that on my own. So I go out of my sleeping recliner and tried to stretch my calf on my own.
In my rush to try to get up, I think I tore some of my calf muscle. I did that one time ago maybe a decade and a half or so. My friend was a nurse and I told her I tore my calf muscle, well she was looking into enzyme theraphy to heal sports injury, so she gave me a bunch of enzymes to try and heal that torn area.
Well, it worked and I was walking normal again after so many days.
Only my friend the nurse, well she died back in 2008, I don't have her to help me with this torn calf muscle, but I do remember I did buy some enzymes, so I took some of that.
It has been a few days and I find that my calf is much better now.
Well, maybe in our time of need with don't have someone to pull and massage the muscle the right way and maybe sometimes we don't have our friend around to help us with enzyme therapy, but the memories of the treatment might still help us out.
Let's end with a scripture, as it is written, Now there was found in it a poor wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city; yet no man remembered that same poor man. Ecclesiastes 9:15.
