This happened sometime this month I believe. Well, in a hot summer I usually keep the screen door locked, but have the door opened to let the cool night air come in, so I guess people that walk past the house knows the lights are on in the house.

Well I was just sitting on my reclining chair, I also use that reclining chair as my bed, as I like to sleep in my living room.

Well, all of a sudden around midnight I hear a voice asking for help. Of course I don't want to let anyone into the house at around midnight.

The guy asked if I could call his mom. So I pull out my phone and through the screen door I do call his mom, and put it on speaker mode.

From his information to his mom, I find out that he was walking late at night and three guys come out of a car with guns and they robbed him of his phone and backpack.

That reminds me of a scripture, with Jesus speaking, The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have more abundantly. John 10:10.

I think I heard the mom ask if he wants to call the police? But he didn't want the police involved, but he was concerned about his mom, since in his back pack are his keys and the address where they live.

So the mom told the son that she was not in the house at the moment, maybe she was at a friends house, then she said, that she would come and get him. I told her the address where he was at, and she asked if her son could just wait by my house until she could pick him up.

I said, Yes, he can hang around here and I told her I would keep him company until she comes.

Then we hung up.

I asked the young man if he believed in Jesus. He told me that he did believe in Jesus. I said that was good.

I asked him if he likes to read the Bible? He told me that he hasn't read the Bible in a long while.

I told him, maybe this all happened so he can start to read the Bible.

Then I told him, how I used to volunteer at a hospital in town and that I talk to a man that got shot 5 times, and he lived. I guess the bullets missed his vital organs. The man that got shot 5 times, said, he was just talking to a girl at the park. Someone drives up and shoots him 5 times.

Maybe, a gang leader likes that girl too and started shooting. Who knows?

I told the guy another guy at the hospital was jumped by a gang at a park downtown area, he went to the restroom there and was beat almost to death, but he lived.

So I told the guy, you know it is very dangerous to be walking around late at night, I told him I wouldn't want to be walking around in the city this late.

I told the guy at my door that, he was lucky that they didn't shoot him.

It is also good to note that in my city, at one time it was know to be the number one city for murders. Other cities have beat that record since.

So he was lucky he didn't get killed.

I told him it would be good to learn of Jesus.

It was not too long later the mom came and picked him up and I said, Good bye to him.

Let's end with a scripture, as it is written, Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. Isaiah 1:17.
