Yes, with all the AI programs out there, I thought I would run my own original song called, Whatcha Doing Tonight? I wrote it like around maybe 1979 or 1980, around there. I even put it on Youtube back in 2007.
Well, anyway with a whole bunch of people on Youtube talking about using AI to write songs and add instruments and female or male singers, I thought well why not try it.
They try to get you in, and the programs in the beginning are free, but for a limited time and if you want to try different things, then they got you and have to dish out money. Well, so long as I get the sound that I want, maybe that is not too bad.
I remember going to a music studio back in 1980 with my brother Mark and we wanted back up musicians, well at the time I think I paid each musician $75, and there were three of them, for drums, bass and keyboard. I think we bought about 3 hours of time at the music studio. So then you still have to pay the music studio by the hour.
Well, with the AI it does cost money but I get more for less with the AI programs.
My brother, Mark even told me he likes what I did with this song, concerning the AI. So that was good to hear.
For this song I used the SUNO AI, I played it my version of the song just using my video from Youtube that I did back in 2007 with my guitar and singing, I wrote out the lyrics, since I didn't want the AI to use it's own lyrics, it can do that, but I wanted my original lyrics.
I also wanted to have a rock/pop acoustic guitar, piano, drums, electric guitar lead and male voice. The AI gave me several versions of this song. I picked this one. It seems close to the original melody.
For the video I used an AI program called, LyricEdits, it is an AI lyric video generator. It listens to the music and lyrics of the song and put images and prints the lyrics on the images. The images change with the lyrics.
So that is what I did with my old song.
